Darren - there is a columnar slimline version of the Gingko called 'Menhir' (a second called 'Fastigiata Blagon', and a third called 'Fastigiata Selevans') which might be ideal for your already 'full' garden, and could do well in a generous pot on your patio. (Similarly, there is a slimline Liquidambar called 'Slender Silhouette'; & a columnar Katsura - Cercidiphyllum 'Red Fox') These are all such lovely tree specimens, ones to look out for, if you love planting trees in a limited (already busy) space. 👌

Wonderful garden center ❤️

Based on how much time was spent with the Gingko, I think that is the one you seem most passionate about. Although I understand the attraction to all those trees. Wish we had acres to plant just trees.

Fie so car pus. We call it ninebark over here. It's a native N. American plant that they've hybridized into some lovely bushes indeed. I love them all! 😊🇨🇦

The dilemma of many gardeners - champagne taste and a beer budget. Alas.

Hi Darren - hope your rose garden burgeoning into another splendiferous year. At 12.20, you whizz past a lovely Ninebark - the very colourful Physocarpus, in this case 'Little Angel', with its burnt orange luminescent leaves, which would look so stunning in a pot on your patio. You have a good eye for interesting and vibrant foliage. I don't know 'Little A', but I do have Physocarpus 'Amber Jubilee', of similar colouring, which does well for me in a big patio pot. (Also 'Lady In Red', and 'Diablo', set in the ground. 'Amber Jubilee' was named in honour of the Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee.) These colourful shrubs form a super backdrop to some wonderfully head-turning roses. So with 'Amber J' I have the burnt orange-russet Rosa 'Hot Chocolate' (award-winning from the USA), and the creamy coffee-coloured (with a lavender twirl) Rosa 'Koko Loko'. Just a couple of examples of how Ninebarks can enhance your rose collection - and you can quietly sup your milky caramel latte alongside your Rosa 'Hot Chocolate' and 'Little Angel' with great pride and satisfaction. Both roses I mention do well for me and are fragrant, and are definitely not like all the others. 🍁🍂🌹🌹😇

I use plastic pots inside my ceramic pots. Makes it easy to move and still looks good.

Maximum fragrance is mostly found in the pink roses. Regarding it's name, I have noted in my 50 years of gardening, that various sellers will each put their own name on the same plant, so I buy only from sources who KNOW roses inside and out upside and down. And yes, 90% of my flowers I chose for maximum fragrance. Glorious roses, intoxicatingly fragrant oriental roses taller than I am exhaling their perfume into the night air, lupnes with their 95% fresh ground black pepper, 5% stale sweat odor, a curious, but accurate description. 16:12 Clematis calling out to Darren "Yoo, hoo! Darren, come take us home with you! The Siren Song of the Clematis! LOL! 17:24 I hate plastic, but I use it for my rose plants that are in massive containers, up to 18 inches I use terra cotta, plastic also retains moisture better. 19:00 No, petunias steal the show, they are like bright, glaring traffic lights, beautiful away from the roses, nothing better than alyssum for underplanting among roses, and get enough alyssum planted, you shall have honey fragrance saturating the air on warm days. White alyssum keeps blooming better and better all summer into autumn for me, but the purple gets loaded up with seeds and stops blooming half way through summer, alyssum is quiet, elegant understatement, whereas petunias visually shout. 20:38 My sweet peas must be strung up, my 50 by 150 feet vegetable garden has got 90% of my attention the past week, I am 95% done planting it. Thank you for showing us the glorious market in your part of the world!
