Speaking as a retired chippy ... The brickies I worked alongside ALWAYS asked for profiles for the windows and doors

Great progress Darren on the build, well done to all of you, now is the time to stand back and admire the lovely brickwork etc. coming together. Splendid work from all of you, it must feel like office work doing the brickwork compared with all the hard work you've been doing. I can't wait to see the finished job.

Darren and Mr. A., those new walls with the reclaimed bricks are so beautiful, I can hardly stand to look at them. I know it is very slow going to build a wall with the small bricks and with that pattern, but it is well worth the work because your work is too magnificent for words.

Loving the videos and the way you guys work. Attention to detail puts must other builders to shame. I moved out of london a number of yeras ago but i imagine skips & partking a real nightmare. The round window of the church in the back ground reminds me of a similar one in Muswell on the Hill.

Is that bond the same as the brickwork on the original part of the house ? Also if your running out of bricks could you use the one's that make up the boundary wall ?
@plummetplum Жыл бұрын
Did you do that wall in Flemish bond?

Loving the old bricks, they look fab. What type of roof is going on this extension and are you putting in roof lights cos the existing room will be really dark if you don't? Even the new room doesn't have that much light coming in.

Thanks It’s going to be a pitched slate (Cembrit) roof. yes it will Have 4 velux style roof windows

Hey i live in Holland and we mount the windows up the inner wall before the outer one goes up, why don't you do that? It gives it a thighter finished line.

Are you mixing new bricks with the old Darren, or have you enough old bricks to do the job?

You are luck to keep the same level as the house. Easy to get down in lime but not sand and cement
