Wonder how hard or even if possible to install cold air conditioning? (Florida)

Bro. I want to figure out how to add this to a weight shift trike. Figure out a way to not loose the heat initially. What was the cost to have built ? Could u get me one I’ll pay u for it

Thanks for the videos - I was wondering what kind of cruise performance you get with your pipistrel? I know they advertise cruise speeds of 147 knots... Do you actually cruise that fast? What recommendations would you have for a prospective buyer?
@DarrylZubot2 жыл бұрын
Hey I get about 125knot cruise with the small tires and wheel pants. Some get 135knots. You cannot achieve the 147knot cruise. This is outdated stat and was possible at the beginning of the virus sw production when they had less drag. But now with the 100hp engine you have more cooling drag, antennas, landing light etc. For new buyer I’d recommend you go fly in one first to make sure it is the right aircraft for you

Hey Darryl, just wondering what your opinion is on 912 ULS vs 912is? If you were buying a new plane, which one would it be and why? Anyone out there with opinions and/or experience? Much appreciated!
@DarrylZubot Жыл бұрын
Hey. Definitely the fuel injected 912iS. Have a friend with 912ULS. He got fed up balancing the carbs that he converted it to fuel injected. It’s much smoother engine, less maintenance, better fuel burn, auto mixture. I’ve had zero issues with it after 1500hours.

Hey Daryl, did you ever get the solar panels on your house? I’m researching what other peoples experiences are around here to see if it’s worth it for me.
@DarrylZubot2 жыл бұрын
Hey, I did yeah they are awesome. Now making more energy then we consume. Snow cover really affects output, almost to zero, so ideally put them where you can clean them off, but energy output in winter is pretty low, most output is spring-summer.

Darryl did you say you had it custom made? Is it to specs re pipistrel?
@DarrylZubot3 жыл бұрын
I’m not entirely sure what you mean. This was not built by pipistrel as they refuse to make a full muffler shroud for whatever reason. This one is made at local aircraft exhaust welding shop. I bought a new muffler from pipistrel for the shop to use to design and build this shroud. They waterjet some of the parts for it.

@@DarrylZubot Thank you Darryl! No I was wondering if you had to design it yourself to make it work if the ac company Pipistrel didn’t make a larger one. You answered me . I am almost done training. ( c19 hampered it ) I am still looking for a AULA in the mean time . My choices have come down to Pipistrel. ( Virus or Sinus motor glider , Flight design and Tecnam ). Thanks again. I can’t say I miss the extreme cold since I move to southern Ont 32 yrs ago but will look to move back when I retire .

What is the size and model of these wheels? I wonder if there is an equivalent front wheel which fits to Virus SW… great video as always.
@DarrylZubot3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Unfortunately you are stuck with small tires with a trike. These are aero classic 850-6 tires from aircraft spruce.

Do you not have propane heat in hangar?
@DarrylZubot3 жыл бұрын
Hangar is not insulated, and large gaps in the hangar door. So heating would be useless unfortunately. But I do think that having a non heated hangar is better for the composite aircraft. It is not being shocked with temps when you take it out of a 20°c hanger into -30c temps.

@@DarrylZubot can you give a link to your heating blanket or whatever it is?
@@DarrylZubot May be, you can set something like a local cover to work, kind of a wigwam, made of wooden frame and plastic film. And add some hot air inside. Otherwise it seams really cold to work. I'm from Russia, but even for me it looks cold )
