Hey man I agree they should make a film or series which takes place during the Old Republic where the Jedi and Sith at peak were at war, I find the OD stories much better than the current film series, do you play MMORPG SWTOR, great game.

And the more you watch, the better it gets- they did the smallest details. The glow under their chins and smoke when he stabs the Jedi master... The little padawans eyes turning yellow as she stares him down right at the end... I mean EVERYTHING.

Great fan-film. The best I've seen in years. Personally I thought it was great writing how Darth didn't kill the last Jedi immediately. I believe the two moments he waited and just looked at her (right after her master was killed and she was crying and the moment before she is struck down by Maul) are there to show us his last bit of compassion/pity/mercy towards others; feelings of his former self so to say. After that his transition to the dark side is complete and he becomes the killing machine we know him as from Episode 1. Great character development/insight with just a glimpse to an unfamilair side of his personality. That says good writing to me :)

the great war between the sith empire and the republic took Place about 3700 years b4 ep4 in the old republic era 300 years after KOTOR's... also it's not rly forgotten art since maul's preferref ls form is form 7 juyo and he also uses niman and jar-kai dual fencing and he is also a master at teras kasi fist to fist fighting... mace windu and sora bulg both use juyo as their main style so it hasnt been forgotten... mace ofc made his vapaad from juyo but juyo is still it's backbone. it's just that most jedi stay clear of juyo since it needs one to feed from anger and joy to fight so it takes considerable discipline from a jedi to use it and not fall to the dark side and sora bulg actually fell to the dark side because of that

That line probably meant more about how the Sith's trademark aggression and brutality in a fight was something the Jedi have not had to counter in a long time, so naturally it took that Master a while to adjust to the way Maul used his anger, and once that Jedi got angry and felt hate himself, he understood.

Nice reaction, but I had to watch the original version 1st (both to give the makers a thumbs up & a view). Hopefully these dudes will get the attention of Disney. They had good characters, a nice story line, epic action & killer special FX. I liked the dude in the mask. I think he might be black. I like tough characters like him. Too bad he got killed off, because I would've liked to see more of him in future Star Wars projects. Maybe he has a son, who'll grow up to be a badass Jedi like he was.

The guy that played Darth Maul is a cosplayer who trains in martial arts

Maul's fighting style is probably referred to as a lost art by virtue of the fact that he uses Form VII, Juyo, which uses darker emotions (but not necessarily the Dark Side) to fuel it's fast, aggressive attacks. The Jedi had only fragmented knowledge of it, but Maul was taught the real deal. Mace Windu's style, Vapaad, was based on what little the Jedi had with his own developments filling in the rest.

So you noticed that he was toying with her but I am not sure if you noticed that it was because he was trying to turn her to the dark side of the force. You can see after he kills her master that he is examining her probably wondering if he can turn her. Then right before the final fight when she turns around and it cuts to Darth Maul you can see surprise and then happiness in his face. He is surprised because he noticed her anger and that she was starting down the path to the dark side then happy because he knows he can turn her completely. He wants to turn her and have her as his apprentice, despite the Sith Rule of Two (which based on what you were saying I'm pretty sure you know what I'm talking about) there are many instances of Sith Apprentices taking on their own apprentices and using that apprentice to help them kill their Master. But in the end he had to kill her because Darth Sidious was watching him through the drone. Also the hologram thing was exactly how I imagined the Holocrons when I first heard of them.
