Amazing how some people dismissed Maul after he "died" in Episode 1. Yet his story gotten so much better. He basically got the "Boba Fett Effect" (I call it). Be badass enough that people take notice and suddenly a very interesting and rich backstory and story is created. After all. Though Boba Fett only had a grand total of 2 minutes and 55 seconds of screen time vs Maul's 7 minutes...sooo yeah.
@alexandrabahtishi61933 жыл бұрын
Yeah, agreed. The only notable thing Boba did was track Han Solo. It was Vader who captured him. Then Boba easily died in the sarlacc pit. Maul killed a jedi master, which had a lot of heft to it.

Favorite moment from the Maul comics: when he was having a conversation with the Jedi padawan she kept saying in a self-deprecating way she's "not even a Jedi, just a padawan learner" then when Maul deals the final blow during their fight he told her as he she dies "Make no mistake, Eldra Kaitis, you *are* a Jedi" which you can take multiple ways. He then thinks "Just like that, I have killed my first Jedi, and I feel..." the sentence is never finished, implicating that he doesn't feel as satisfied as he thought he would.

Don't forget he gets stronger from the event. Vader becomes almost useless to palps after he loses limbs due to the fact robotic/droid parts cannot be a conductor to the force, and the loss of mediclorines from natural body parts and the idea that its in the blood. The most interesting thing is that I have no doubt in my mind that maul could have killed obi wan, but he was the one thing that had kept him alive all those years. To kill obi wan would mean to kill off a piece of himself. This is what makes the character dynamic so incredible and is the causation for how easily he lets himself be defeated in the end. It was closer for maul.
@christopherdiamond4953 жыл бұрын
This is a great project that you did extremely well. Thank you. Maul is, in my opinion, in the top 5 best SW characters. That's owed a great deal to both the Clone Wars and Rebels, and to Sam Witwer's portrayal of him. I have a bad habit of trying (perhaps) to put myself in the character's shoes and what I realized is that the Clone Wars Maul was easily the 2nd most dangerous person in the SW galaxy. Patient, analytical, wise, thoughtful, cunning, methodical, ruthless, vicious , HIGHLY intelligent and... if none of that was enough to win the day, he also commanded the Dark Side of the force and was a "Um, yea you're probably going to get cut in half" bad-ass duelist. What's really interesting, IMO, is that Maul has played out as one could probably prohesy after reading about him in Darth Plagueis. Even then Palpatine was grooming him to be his #1 with the important lessons about the necessity of patience, of planning, of manipulating, of finding what people want so you can exploit it as a weakness... the continuity of this character across Lucas, Luceno, and Filonni and company has been like a gift that kept giving. Great video.

I love how the mando’s aren’t allowed to take off their masks but in clone wars they all have them off
@kilanjanmoro74374 жыл бұрын
Mandalorians were able to take off their masks, but after the purge, they swore to the Codex of Shadows. This meant they had to stay in the shadows and were unable to take off their helmets. The older ones who didn’t swear to the codex were able to take off their helmets, such as the Deathwatch mandos.

Joshua White What I meant is they aren’t allowed to take off their helmets in public, with others around. But in private they can take them off freely.
