I never put the connection together between Palpatine and Ras but I do see it. One of the original writers of Ninjago was a huge Star Wars fan so there were lots of Star Wars references such as in S2 Wu says “I feel a great disturbance in the force”.

Btw, today current showrunner confirmed that Plants and Nature are two names for the same element and that either Bolobo or Shade (OG masters from S4) is canonically deceased while the other one is alive and well without disclosing the intrigue. Kinda wild that 5 elements from OG show have found new hosts by now with at least 2 of them being canonically dead.

And it’s crazy because in ep 9 of S2 ras says he has not gotten better and he has potential and that he’s just like ras and he can get better through strength I like what there doing with arin and sora and i hope ras trains him and arin has a morro and harumi arc imo if ras train him and how fast he learns in his teaching he will be better than the ninja or on par with Lloyd considering the writers made Lloyd say arin has the potential to be the greatest ninja

Bruh Ras teachings Are making arin getting stronger but its not good way to teach him did you not see the red sparkles when Arin did proper spinjitsu the first time its like doing things in life the easy way like Stealing money and not getting a job yes if you steal its easier and you get more money but its better to get a job its the right way

I actually think they do have elements but their elements suck so much in their concept (something even more stupid than balance or bubbles) that they had to create Shatterspin so people would respect and fear them since they were probably mocked for their elements.
