Again, you're approaching the predicament logically lol yes, taking in to account the weight, friction and force upon when wielding the blade. That all doesn't really apply when being implemented into videogames. For some characters, yes. Although, not everything will make sense when sword wielding characters use a blade they're supposed to efficiently. Or in Vadar's case. His light saber, and tbh the movies have to make it seem accurate more or less, but in a fighting game which he's in an alternate universe, it's not really surprising. This was one of my favorite PS3 games, and I think it may have been the first game I bought with the system. Also, Angol Fear is canonically an alien, drawn through a similar portal as Vader. How weird is that?

"A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...", meaning that perhaps Vader, Yoda, and the Apprentice didn't travel through time, but instead just traveled to Earth, as the middle ages in Europe weren't too recent either.
