I didn't think that the orcs stood a chance. Early on, the giants were dying almost before they could get many swings in and the opposing walkers were untouched. That alone made a low tech victory unlikely. Amazing that we got to see Sauron and Vader go at it! Let it not be said that either lead from the rear. Sauron's troops were being annihilated and pushed back while he stood surrounded by various Jedi, Sith and range opponents. Epic!

They don't even need those. Their blasters could easily one shot any orc and potentially even the trolls/giants/whatever those were. Blasters alone would've devastated saurons army. It's only Sauron himself that's questionable, because he's a maiar(don't know if I spelled that right). If Darth Vader got the one ring though he definitely could've defeated sauron, cause sauron didn't want powerful beings to get the ring and potentially challenge him.

Sorta. They didn't run or abandon the battle of the Last Alliance when he was defeated there. The alliance called it a day and figured that his defeat would be enough to let Middle-Earth recover. The Orcs of Mordor did not give up then and continued to work and serve Sauron. The only reason they ran when he was obliterated at the end of the Third Age is because of the sink hole that was formed at the entrance of the Black Gate. In addition, the will and power of Sauron had also been shattered. They had nothing left to fight for or drive them to fight.

The ring was what let Sauron endure in Middle Earth. All that screeching from the tower, as I understand it, was his soul being ripped out of any form of physical existence (at the time, the eye).

Sauron is the master of dark magic. That would probably be his means of attack. He is also a Maiar, effectively a demigod only exceeded in power by Valar and (of course) Eru Illuvatar (Maybe also Melkor\Morgoth if he was still hanging around). Vader is a master of the Dark Side of the Force (which, in a way, could be considered dark magic). He also has a vast technological advantage. From the looks of it, this battle takes place on Middle Earth. That's Sauron's turf. Vader would have no knowledge of this world, which Sauron DOES, and he will use that to his advantage. Toss-up. And, WHY does Vader's army all have BLUE-BLADED, JEDI lightsabers? He HATES the Jedi. He'd kill every last one of them before he'd "draft" them. Shouldn't all those be RED SITH lightsabers?

Sauron is essentially a demigod of lotr, and the only way to kill him is to destroy the ring. So realistically, if the empire didn’t have access to mount doom, Sauron would inevitably beat Vader. Even though stormtroopers would defeat orcs easily, Sauron Carrie’s his army and especially if some balrogs and Nazgûl and morgoth himself show up to then the empire is cooked.

In reality you don't need to kill Sauron to defeat him, just cut off his finger and separate it from the ring. And a basic sith should easily be able to do that with force abilities, let alone someone like Vader. Furthermore, the Empire has access to stars and gamma rays capable of pulverizing entire planets, so it could easily find an energy source thousands of times hotter than Mount Doom to melt the ring and definitively annihilate Sauron. I root for Sauron's army, but with the Empire's technology they don't have a single chance of winning, the empire can destroy entire planets and move entire space fleets, even if Sauron uses all the dragons and balrogs of the age ancient, and he can't do it, it wouldn't be enough. We saw that an alliance of men and elves destroyed Sauron and his army, and they fought with arrows and swords, let alone how he would be annihilated by the firepower of the empire. I don't think even Melokor would stand a chance, considering he wasn't able to break the forces of the elves and middle earth, much weaker than a galactic empire.

Keep in mind, Balrogs are also demigods and are made of shadows and flames. The stormtroopers would shoot through them. Only 3 Balrogs ever died, and it took the most powerful elf Glorfindel to beat one. It also took Gandalf (another demigod) 10 days to kill one and sacrificed himself to do so. Most balrogs were thrown into the abyss with morgoth. And if they showed up, then the empire would be destroyed quite fast. Elves are as skilled as Jedi (they don’t seem to be in the movies but in the books many of them are depicted to be exceptionally skilled) so some elves would be able to beat a Jedi. The fact is, it took Elrond’s father to fly on a boat riding into battle (and plenty other powerful beings) to beat morgoth. And even then, morgoth cannot be killed. Only thrown into the abyss like a balrog. So realistically, if a balrog showed up or if Sauron didn’t get his finger chopped off then they would beat the empire.

All the demonic creatures and dragons, which are Melkor's greatest war force, would be completely wiped out by the firepower of the Galactic Empire that could destroy the entire planet simply with a carpet bombing, remaining out of orbit and therefore out of any countermeasures of Melkor, not to mention the power of the Death Star. Melkor's forces don't stand a chance. The Barlog are formidable in a ground and hand-to-hand fight, but if the threat comes from space or in any case from high altitudes, they can do nothing. The most powerful Barlog was killed by Ecthelion, an elf. Even if we compare the elven force to that of the Jedi, the Jedi would be wiped out quite quickly by the Imperial fleet, we saw it in the movies how they fell against an army of clones, although caught by surprise. This isn't about stormtroopers firing blasters at the Barlogs, going through them because they can't hit their bodies, this is about unleashing the full firepower of the Imperial fleet and its war machines against the Barlogs, pulverizing the ground they walk on and the Barlogs themselves. In this case the space technology of the Empire is too advanced to be countered by the ancient magic of Melkor and his demons. Even if Melkor and the Barlogs can't be physically killed, only confined, it still wouldn't be a problem. Once the planet is disintegrated, Melkor and his demons would be scattered and helpless in outer space, at which point they could be captured by the fleet and confined forever to some prison planet at the edge of the universe.. still not enough? The Empire could shoot them directly into a supermassive black hole and game over. In short, you will have to use better arguments to demonstrate that the Empire's technology, capable of obliterating planets and entire civilizations, is not sufficient to eliminate Melkor and his demons.
