⁠​⁠@@calebgraham6166that would have been nice but I think impossible for many reasons outside the plot G.Lucas has planned Luke would probably die, Vader would be rejected by everyone, and the rebels would lose. The only way for him is too turn Luke to the dark side Also at this point he has been longer Vader than Anakin the jedi, he was 22 when he became Vader and has been Vader for 23 years. The last person that believed in him was Padme and died bc of him and no one believed in Anakin neither himself or the jedis even Obiwan and Yoda order Luke to kill him. So when Lukes tell him there’s good Vader doesn’t believe it himself whivh makes the whole thing so interesting in my opinion, or knows that would kill him somehow, and probably made him weaker at this point against Luke on the final fight Anakin was alive when Padme or Luke make him believe in his good side and was Vader meanwhile. Also I found Luke has Padme’s character while Leia has Anakin character Some people says that also to remain alive with his injuries he has to stay on the dark side, physically but also emotionally, which make total sense He is the chosen one after all 😂

Yes! I find it strange that Luke was the only one who sensed there was still good in him besides Padmae. Luke sensed it when Vader told him, you can destroy the Emperor.

It’s sad because Anakin didn’t believe in himself anymore but LUKE DID. He KNEW who his father truly was and is. He was brave enough to try to help redeem his Father and he couldn’t have been anymore right. It's an artificial lightsaber crystal that Luke created on Tatooine when he went through Obi-Wan's belongings and found the journals and Jedi texts on how to do this process and Luke made the Lightsaber hilt out of spare junk parts and modeled it after Obi-Wan's own lightsaber.

In the superior continuity, Luke fabricated an artificial lightsaber crystal via a method similar to Sith Alchemy, without the evil elements. In the Disney Era continuity, it's a blank kyber crystal he received during his adventures between TESB and RotJ. The same person who gives him the blank crystal asked him to heal a red crystal, but he failed that task.

I believe they were yellow way less often than we imagine; like, in general, not just here. Anakin was trapped within Darth Vader, but he was never completely silenced. This means he suffered even more during his dark years, but it also means the window was always open for his redemption.

But it was Vader who put him in cuffs and took him before the Emperor. He was torn and his commitment to the Dark Side was crumbling and Luke sensed it.

He could see it was love and admiration of the man he once was…and not simply fear of what he had become. Ahsoka had tried to reach him the same way--“I will not abandon you this time (even if it means I die with you)--but she wasn’t powerful enough to break through the despair. To get him to see that the care was genuine. You see this in the Ahsoka series. She still loves and admires who Anakin was….and has compassion for what it took to turn him into Vader. Which you feel returned in their encounter in The World Between Worlds. It feels like a reunion between brother and sister. A brother that is concerned for his sister’s safety and wellbeing from beyond the grave.

Considering Luke had a green lightsaber I imagine Vader/Anakin felt a great deal of pride as it likey reminded him of Qui-Gon. To see that his son was on a path that focused on a deeper connection with the force likely brought him a feeling of hope he hadn't felt since the news of Padme's pregnancy.

In this scene for the 1st time you see Vader as vulnerable. Not so much physically in the force, although Luke was strong enough in the force he could go toe to toe against Vader and probably beat him. But you see Vader as emotionally vulnerable when Luke reaches out to him. It's like he is starting to have second thoughts about his life choices and regrets about how he lived his life. Despite everything Vader did, Luke's compassion towards his broken father clearly rattled him and you see Anakin Skywalker struggling to break away from the dark side and come back to the good side.

Vader had always been proud . If you read shadows of the empire he reflects on his encounter with luke . There's pride in his tone when talking about Luke's strength and skill. The green lightsaber made him proud to see luke was so strong with the force. Vader never wanted to kill luke. Luke was his son and only link to padme and his conflicted emotions stemmed from that very connection. The boy, jedi whose hope for his fathers redemption ended the sith the day luke threw his saber when facing Palpatine

Weirdly enough in legends (And my preferred version of this) Luke actually used a SITH technique to make a synthetic kyber crystal, and then meditated focusing on the crystal to turn it to a green. It makes a lot of sense seeing as like you said the empire had taken most crystals in the galaxy and they actually outlawed the possession of kyber crystals. In canon Obi Wan left Luke the green crystal of Qui Gon Jin which is kinda ehhhhh.

I guess when vadar held Luke’s saber, he felt a bit of qui gon Jin inside of the saber (according to the Luke saber rumor). Like something from Anakin’s past came to greet him and thus becoming the capstone of Vader’s conflict between his light and dark and overtime the conflict grew more and more intense. Finally when the battle of Endor arrived, Vader had enough and killed Palpatine.

I mean that's kinda the feeling you get watching the film tho. Watching these videos, I'm just imagining all of Star Wars but every bit of internal monologue is in the movies with a slow zoom in on the character thinking each time. Be like watching those clips of Death Note where every 5 seconds of time passing in the show needs to include 20 minutes of hearing every single thought in everyones' heads.
