Don't get salty because your favorite didn't win, Vader was my favorite in this matchup too but Doom is on another level entirely. Vader can be killed by a skilled swordsman, a lucky blaster shot (sure he could block it but if he didn't, it'd kill him) or a ship explosion, meanwhile Doom is immune to /reality warping godlike powers/. Vader exists to be scary by being a skilled combatant with an army against a ragtag bunch of rebels and a kid with no real experience as a Jedi, while Doom exists to be intimidating to /gods/. Death Battle isn't about favorites, it's about who's stronger, and there is absolutely no question that Doom is stronger.

The problem also is that most don't fully understand what can be done with the force. To many, especially hardcore comic fans, the Force is weak magic. But in most books and video games, the Force is literally the ultimate force in the universe. I kinda agree that this is one of the worst death battles. Not because I think Vader should win, cos there's no way that Vader could beat Doom, but because of exactly that; there was no contest. I've had the same opinion of a few death battles, such as Pokemon vs Digimon and Superman vs Goku. Regardless of which side I'm a fan of I can recognise when there's a huge power gap between them. As eric said; this is the problem when comparing supposedly similar characters from completely different universes; the rules are so different and the power levels so different that there can be no contest. When you actually examine the extent of their feats, the strongest being in one universe, such as Vader, might barely be mediocre in another, such as the Marvel universe.
