Death battle tends to use “usual equipment” for the characters. Yes the chaos emeralds aren’t specifically shadows’. However, he uses them in every source media he’s in. Therefore, he uses them regularly enough for them to be considered something that is indeed in his arsenal.

I thought of another DEATH BATTLE for Shadow... Shadow the Hedgehog VS Bass (from Mega Man) and they both be in a gun fight as Shadow uses multiple guns in his own game (especially his own... Shadow Rifle) and he can use his Dark Shadow form for his Chaos Blast and maybe his Super Form too. And I believe in a battle with Bass like that, I bet Shadow can and will win. From what I understood (I know nothing about Sonic besides what's been told on the death battles and a Game Theory, but still...) Shadow activated his Chaos Control (which I guess is the thing that lets him control time) with only the red Emerald, hit Mewtwo and then deactivated it to pick up the green Emerald and activate his Super ripoff form. He apparently planned on using all of them to activate the power even stronger the second time, but by then Mewtwo knew about it and he got wasted.

Fun Fact: The western release of Pokémon the first movie had cut content (the part about the daughter) because it was deemed "inappropriate" and "traumatizing" for western audiences, you know, bullshit. Then you add in all of the mis-translations and added lines that make no sesne at all (like that atupid line about the Minnesota Vikings), change up character motoves (like Mew being a good guy when in fact it was there to kill destroy Mewtwo) and you have a bastardized version of the movie. If you want to see the movie just watch the original japanese version with subtitles.

The thing is, I do agree with the Shadow fans that Shadow could easily destroy Mewtwo within three seconds...If Shadow knew what Mewtwo was capable of beforehand. But because of the rules of Death Battle, the two fighters aren't allowed to know about each other canonically (barring special instances like Meta vs. Carolina, or the Battle Royals). If Shadow knew what Mewtwo was capable of before the fight began, off go the inhibitor rings, Chaos Control, grab the 7th Emerald, go Super Shadow, bang, dead. But because he can't know about Mewtwo otherwise the fight wouldn't even happen in the first place, his natural arrogance and cocky attitude came out first, and that led to his downfall

You ask about the difference between the Chaos Emeralds and the Dragon Balls. There's 2 differences. One, the Dragon Balls summon an ally to win for him, and Two, Goku's mindset. He never uses the Dragon Balls to take someone down. He would always fight someone himself in honorable combat. I would even expect him to fight Superman at a blue sun world if he knew more about him, thus fighting him at his best.

On different planes of existence, so technically he was fighting solaris on his own while the other two were dealing with him in different dimensions. This fight was not good like, at all in terms of feats and abilities. no way shadow can lose to mewtwo because he has dealt with much much worse while mewtwo loses to a mega charizard and his trainer which don't compare to enemies in the sonic world... dont get me wrong, mewtwo is very powerful in his own respected world but when you clash the pokemon world with the sonic world (or with any other world with competent fighters), it becomes one sided it's not even a joke. I love pokemon and even a fan of pokemon but even I can see how flawed and wrong this video is. But I digress.

Being part Black Arms, Shadow is partially an extension of Black Doom, making him vulnerable to mind control exerted by Black Doom himself. (However, Shadow can fight this influence through sheer resolve and willpower.) Clearly Screw-attack didn't do accurate research for Shadow. In Base Form Shadow could Flip Trucks and Buses(22 tons) with one hand easily so he can lift lift about 50-70 tons. Plus Shadow is much faster than Mewtwo meaning he could have ended the fight really fast before Mewtwo could even try to mind control him or whatever. Also A Spoon? Really? Shadow fell from SPACE given the distance I say he fell with a force of about 8-10 Megatons of Force. Plus he's tough enough to shrug off bullets and took energy blasts from Mephiles so i doubt a spoon can pierce him. Plus Shadow could have just stop time and killed Mewtwo easily but Screw Attack thinks otherwise.
