Dartmouth park - sandwell valley- exploring the black country

Very Good & interesting vlog, i lived in Wednesbury 1979 - 1991 and often Cycled to Sandwell Valley/Dartmouth Park Great place. And been back many times since. Even saw a 'UFO' there once!

Really enjoyed this one mate, i'm retired now and spent many a happy day at ' The Park ' I remember the refreshment rooms which had a Mynah bird that swore, and also the boating lake , those that went on the boats will remember the immortal megaphone announcement " COME IN BOAT 18 " or whatever the boat number you were in was " YOUR TIME IS UP " ! I suppose the bowling green has gone now, what's now Sandwell valley we knew as Wasson and used to swim in swan pool , we also used to camp on the ruins of the old Benedictine monastry to see if we could see " The mad monk " legend had it he used to walk the ruins and we also used to play on the spoil heap of Sandwell colliery . Thanks for bringing back happy memories

As soon as the sun is out, I'm out on my bike for ride round Dartmouth Park it's great to get away for a few hours and just chill out, they hold events in the park like live bands and car boots, I've watched some of your previous videos and it's great to see someone make videos about the local history of the Midlands.

Sad they got rid of the little farm. I think it may closed in covid lock down but not 100% sure on that. Used to take my daughter there a lot when she was little
