Hello Darren l play with the Harrow's atomic straight barrel 23gram great set of dart's but looking to get a new set been pondering a set of predators for a bit now but also like the Matthew Edger dart's because looking to go thinner but don't like the colour scheme do you think you could remove the colour to get down to the natural tungsten Cheers for your feedback.

Hey Darren, nice darts, great review. you gotto do a state of the collection series, going by iconic players maybe, showcasing all the taylor darts in one video, than do a Bristow one etc... and maybe the non player stuff by brand? just an idea, bet it would be a hell of a lot of work, but could be worth it.... cheers

Good review - as usual. Harrows put out some good-looking darts with this release. Too bad none of them have a shape more like the Spina. I throw those better than any other set I have, and can't find a similar shaped dart anywhere...lol

I really appreciate your reviews. Definitely streets ahead of other channels. I have a couple of practical observations and questions about the grip on darts that I hoped to get your view on: 1. Are smoother darts better than grippy darts for tight grouping? It makes sense to me that grippy darts could be more likely to ricochet away when the barrels make contact whereas smooth darts will slide nicely alongside each other. Think of Ted Hankey as an example. His thin smooth darts always seemed really closely grouped when he hit 180s. 2. Why don't we see rubber being used as a way to aid the grip? I've experimented with this myself by rolling the little runner rings along the barrels and it does seem to help.

Thanks Tom, great to hear you like the videos! :) Yes I would say in theory the smooth darts should have less chance of having unwanted deflections but its also about how the darts in the board sit up and how your darts enter the board and the angle of contact etc, but smooth barrels should be better in that regard overall :) There is some darts that have rubber types of grips and its also been done in the past. I guess its a thing that not many people liked though or it would have been more popular. Could also be other reasons like it wears too quickly?

However, I also believe that the best darts are the ones you get used to. I've got my dad's set of John Lowe's which he's had for about 40 years now! With that in mind, why don't we all stop tinkering and just get the thinnest, smoothest darts possible and just get used to them? What are your thoughts on this theory?

yes you can get used to most darts if you spend enough time with them but as an example the set I got my first 180 with I hated, felt they were too thin and too light but I also had my second 180 with them and my one and only ever triple bulls eye, I still hated them though lol Also some people have rough hands from working so find smooth darts difficult to hold and I also think that even though we can probably get used to any set in time its still better to go with something that feels right from the start, just my opinion though :)

I've had harrows darts for a while and while they are nice I do find that they chip and gnarl far easier than other makes. Not sure if their quality of tungsten is different bit just something I noticed. Put me off buying the spinja darts as I thought of the chipping ruining the look
