Re: mag well falling out 1). I imagine them being detachable means that a kid slamming a corner does not irreperably destroy the blaster. A permanntly affixed magwell means it breaking puts you S.O.L. 2). There is a lovely 3d-printed rail-mounted support that holds the parts in place even under the weight of heavy drums. It cradles them like a baby.

They made it removable because that is how you get jams out. My kids managed to jam a couple times.

Yeah I did a live stream about shooting 2 at one time, you can do this by a 2x4 lego. You dont shoot 2x all the time, but enough of the time to keep it fun.

Xfoxgames got one about a month or so ago and did a mod stream on it. Just using a toothpick,as a temporary idea, he got it firing both darts at the same time. Also, there's 2 pegs in each mag well that if you clip those, the DZ halfdart adapter slides in like butter and the mags themselves fit perfectly. Just needs longer pushers.

Totally agree! My daughter won one of these. She loves it! The magwell popping off is annoying. The stock not being adjustable is a bit long for smaller kids. I like seeing new ideas tried! Now we just need Dart Zone to give us an AEG Pro/Max....

I think the reason the Mag wells can come off is so that if a kid rounds the corner and hits it with their mag it won't break the gun.

Neat in the same day I learn that Hasbro is putting out a 120$ Star Trek jolt rifle, and that Dart zone put out a dual mag full auto blaster for 30$ named the VULCANator. Coincidence in timing and name, but its hard not to laugh.

I’ve seen someone on Reddit making a rail mounted brace for the mag wells so they can handle heavier mags and drums a lot easier. That way you can still pull it apart for storage, but get more use out of the blaster. That coupled with an internal upgrade could really make this blaster an absolute beast

About the Spectrum mag, I actually found out it could hold 12 when I bought it; I noticed the length was similar to my nerf 12 round mags and I thought "hey, I should try fitting 12 in there" and it worked.

its not my wheelhouse personally but i dont hate it. with two 25 dart drums and carrying a decent amount of drums on your kit and i could see it being a decent heavy infantry weapon for people into it.

I found a brace of sorts that slides on from the front and helps the magwells to not be as easily come out. I have also printed a double pusher to fire both sides at once. Looking for better motors to be able to handle both darts at once. Also xfox has done an internals/ mod ish vid.

Xfoxgames had a livestream where he opened up the vulcanator and got it to shoot both magazines not reliably but its possible. Cant wait to see what people will put out for vulcanator.

I believe the mag wells pop off easily because there is no jam door, so you just pop the wells off and fix the jam then pop them back on.

This blaster is great it has plenty of room for a masterkey because of no vertical magwell I haven't had any problems with the magwells falling off even with a 25-round drum the only complaint that is hard to solve is the lack of a sling mount but luckily, I use a hammershot as my sidearm

Also it's funny, when I started in the hobby the Rapidstrike was sort of the de facto "standard full auto" flash forward like 4 years and essentially we get the v-twin Rapidstrike with roughly the same to better performance and the ability to take 2 mags for less. I sort of see this as a Rapidstrike plus.

So fun fact: I got my vulcanator for about 8.99 at target on clearence. I don't have any other targets to compare to but if that is an across the board thing, this may be a very good cheap flywheeler option.

The twin mags remind me of a real life prototype rifle, I think it was galled the Burton or burst on? It is the only weapon that I know of with the LMR designation (Light Machine Rifle) Edit: just double checked, its the Burton

Villainator, vulcanator, dictator...lot of ators lately. Lots of real estate on the bottom for underbarrel blasters with the mags out the side like that, I prefer that to mounting blasters on top or way out to the front.

I don't know if this has been commented yet but what happens when you replace the empty mag while the other mag is firing? Does it go back to firing the left one (for arguments sake) when you replace the left one, or does it continue to fire the right when the left one is replaced?

No idea. But my guess is if you loaded the right while firing the left it would start firing the right.

I’d be curious about how the internals work as well. Especially in regards to you mentioning reloading one magwell while the other is firing. You put a full mag back into the right side while the left is firing, wound the blaster immediately switch back to the right side? Testing to be done I suppose

It works with only one magazine in the blaster. No need to worry about which side either. It will go to which every side has a clip with a loaded mag.

Captain, is it possible to swap the mag adapters to the opposite side of the blaster and end up with them pointing downward like an "A" as opposed to the upward "V" configuration? That would be one worth-while reason for the mag adapters being easily detachable IMHO. Thanks for the review!

Sadly not. The mags need to go downward so it will line up with the mag selector inside.

@@adamrobertson9332 well, it was a nice thought while it lasted... But I suppose we should just be grateful that it's not a flaming bag of dog-doo like Hasbro has been trying to sell us as of late. Maybe when modding for simultaneous fire, it could also be modded to allow repositioning of the mags. I just think it would be an easier transition to get used to swapping double mags if they weren't also upsidedown. Plus, the mags could act as a quasi bipod of sorts, and it would just look a hell of a lot cooler. This is all not to deny that the mags up orientation has its benefits. Once glued or having otherwise been stabilized to carry the weight of drum mags, a couple of 35-rounders could act as somewhat of a face-shield. Also, it leaves the area underneath uncluttered for you to place your off-hand wherever you deem comfortable and effective.
