As someone who doesn't mod, prefers springers, doesn't care for mags, and consequently favors blasters like the Turbo Advance and the Villainator, I can not begin to describe how much I love this thing. It's the dream blaster I did not think would ever be made, cylinder fed, scavenger friendly, pro-level performance. I absolutely adore this beast.

My issue (and it's not against the blaster) is that I don't go to wars, so $70 is a bit high for just a plinker. For me, anyway. The blaster looks fantastic, and I definitely think for most people it is worth $70 easily. Definitely wish it came out thirty or so years ago so I could have played with it as a kid!
@notimeforwargames30482 жыл бұрын
Well if you just want a plinker then grab a Villainator for $20 which is a much more affordable version of this thing, this is a pro-level blaster that is definitely made for higher end games, so i think the price is worth it as long as you are using it for that purpose.

Speaking of 50 rounds, the real Thompson’s drum magazine holds 50 rounds too. And the Tomcat does have slam fire mode to mimic the Thompson’s full auto mode. This is the closest that a blaster can get to resembling and functioning like the real Thompson.

I have indeed found a few faults with it, glad you asked. First thing is that there is no longer easy access to the spring. Haven't taken it apart yet, but it looks like you have to dismantle the entire grip.(And I'm not a big fan of the N-strike attachment point in general, I think it's a step back from the buffer tube) Secondly, the barrel is very low in the blaster profile, and on mine at least, does not seem to be as tight a fit as the pro line. Tried it with bamboos in it and got abyssmal results, unfortunately. Thirdly, I don't like the vertical grip, but that's a personal thing and easy enough to rectify. It's still a fantastic blaster. Price is a bit high maybe.

I feel like the next step would be to design a tactical vest that holds two extra 50 dart drums now that Dartzone sells spare drums. I absolutely love the weapon. Personally I find adding a barrel extension with a barrel attaching bipod makes it easier to use. Add a scope and you have a very nice sniper rifle.

I'm not positive I'm right, but I down-powered this with a spring that I think I took from a stock Dart Zone Titanium, getting the fps down to about 120. I replaced the spring in the Titanium with an upgraded Longshot spring, so I think you can replace the stock spring with options for the Longshot. Like I said, not positive I'm right, but if I am, that opens up some pretty exciting options

Honestly one way gates for the drum would be great! Unfortunately as you mentioned the cost would be affected and the assembly. Having to install 25 torsion springs and flaps each drum would for sure slow down manufacturing times.

I just can’t get enough of this 2022 DartZone 🔥
@notnuffnerf2 жыл бұрын
@@telefizzion it’s definitely not perfect. There are issues with just about every blaster except the Dictator, but they are between moderate and minor. I think the AF Deuce Pro was the biggest let down, but mainly because of how high the anticipation for it was. Shooting 5 rounds out of a 6-barrel cylinder is still a substantial problem however. Most of the 2.1 issues are related to the holster, and the 1.2 just needs a very good muscle memory motion for priming. The Tomcat behaves as long as you’re not hyper-priming it like there’s candy inside. Last but not least, the MK3 is amazing and only needs very minimal mod to improve it’s full-auto fire rate. I just went on a ramble lol. Back to watching El Capitan’s video! ⚓️

Could you reload the second layer darts through the rear ports at the *bottom* of the drum (like, 5-7 o'clock position) since a single dart would, in theory, fall into the exterior portion of the channel?

I'm surprised to see a drum blaster hitting this hard, but it makes sense considering it doesn't just blast into the back of the darts, it seals them on the second prime stroke. Makes me wonder if there would be reliability issues over time, if the drum doesn't stop right where it needs to, causing the bolt to not travel forward as reliably.

Entirely unrelated to the contents of this video comment: Books! I'm sending you more of them, sir, in the near(ish) future (precisely how near that future is depends on how long it takes me to get around to putting them into appropriately sized packaging and then lugging said packaging to a post office, so... who knows really). Unlike the past several times I have made room on my shelves by sending you tomes, there will *not* be 1 or more of the 1/10-scale McFarlane 40K action figures accompanying this set of books; I'm sure you'll find that the previous oddly specific statement of what I am not including, that went into more detail than would really be necessary, was *not* carefully worded, in the precise manner that it was, so as to convey a falsehood via the telling of truths - no, clearly I just like to ramble, nothing suspicious here at all, move along! (Jokes aside, I'm deeply looking forward to your reaction to the [spoilers] that are definitely not 1/10-scale McFarlane 40K action figures being captured on camera, for posterity).
