i have always felt that our forefathers maxim of 'make do and mend', is a far better way for us to live. The most frightening thing about this lecture is how right he is now being proved. The irony is that he is from the Microsoft Institute - a company which in addition to paying his wages is involved in using the dwindling resources which he is at pains to point out are going to cause big problems. The big elephant in the room is how to control population - the planet itself will turn on us. I write as we all suffer Covid......

No, the big elephant in the room is how to pull people out of abject poverty and control consumerism without destroying the planet despite the whining of the rich and powerful.

Instead of continuously regurgitating older lectures why not provide a more updated discussion. Advances in genetic research related to viruses have advanced significantly in the last 6 years.

When was this lecture? A little dated with the floods and plagues, no?

@@crotalusatrox7931 I think I was being facetious. At the time of the posting of this video I already had a war chest full of food and supplies going into covid as I started to build up supplies from the spring flooding in the midwest the year earlier. I take pride in being ahead of the curve. In fact I sent a text to my greater family on Feb 24, 2020(the day after this video was posted) warning them of the coming pandemic and received a lot of "conspiracy theory" pushback. Two and a half weeks later the lockdown happened. My motto is: I was where you are at, I am where you are not.

@@apextroll Dude, you and I are kindred spirits, back in the early days of covid when it was restricted to China in late 2019, I predicted in would become pandemic. Times aren't good for the future and I am so glad I live in the forested mountains of the Ouachita Mnts., where game and forage are available to those who know how to hunt & gather. Prepare and above all else stay away from cities.

Why wouldn't gravity pull the Earth ever closer to the sun resulting in higher temperatures?
@Gsoda352 жыл бұрын
Earth got a lot of sideways momentum. The pull from the Sun is too low for it to happen.
@imaweerascal Жыл бұрын
Gravity from the sun is literally what keeps us in orbit. Without that we'd travel at constant velocity. Basic physics.

He made you and me and all the processes in biology and the ecosystem. Its up to us to use these God given talents and abilities to avoid disaster. We are stewards on this planet and we have to be wise with our time and resources. We cannot just look to economics and science to save us. us@SuperTonyony

I still don’t understand why you would save the useless under educated poor people who have strong immunities and destroy the unhealthy middle and upper class greedy rich folks who don’t do shit to help this planet and each other?
