He speaks so candidly and with ease. Amazing what the power of knowledge can do.

This was very interesting. Watched a Timeline documentary on this and so wanted to see if there was anything on the Delta 32 gene. This went more in-depth and I really like the research on the cats I like the way that research in one area can help the research in other areas.

This so amazing to watch in the COVID times of the last two years (watching February 2022), especially as this novel virus seems to be becoming endemic.

Excellent talk! The follow-up is that Svante Paabo found CCR5 came from Neanderthals (and won a 2022 Nobel prize for his work). So it must have bern around in low amounts for 40K+ years before it was amplified by Y. Pestis. Johannes Krause’s talks on his work studying ancient DNA and plagues report finding Y. Pestis DNA much earlier (Bronze Age, I think). All these talks are on KZbin. So interesting! I wish it were easier to have ourselves tested so we could use this information to avoid West Nile etc. All we have access to is 23andme which doesn’t say which archaic DNA SNPS we’ve received. Thank you for your work Dr. O’Brien.

Thank you for this presentation!!!! Very cool. How would I go about genetic testing for the delta 32 gene mutation? My mother was from England, and my father's ancestry is also from GB. I'm curious. Not much to compare; but I never contracted varicella!. I had a titer to confirm. I was exposed as a baby when chicken pox parties (herd immunity) was all the rage lol. I'm also a former nurse who had direct contact with shingles patients. Still nothing! Weird. ✌

Go to google. Type in his name and he probably has a webpage on how to contact him. Or his webpage where he currently works would come up.
