I wanna play the saxophone solo early in the morning when it’s not too many people outside for the echo. I want to wake up all the neighbors with it. I remember a Jamaican man playing the flute early in the morning in my neighborhood when I was younger and it sounded so amazing. He would walk around playing every morning it was a beautiful sound with the echo.

I just love the mood and beat of the song and how all the instruments blend so tightly, they make this song - the sax, drums, bass, guitar and synth. The 80s were was such a perfect storm for music - the sound, voices, songwriting etc - and Hall and Oates were a big reason why. Superb group and songwriters.

Funny this is that they had their first big hits in the mid-70s, followed by a few misses on Along the Red Ledge and X-Static, which only scored a couple of minor hits. However, starting in 1980, they struck gold and had five number one hits in just 4 years, a phenomenal run.

@josout61353 жыл бұрын
Is that really true? I love the saxofone myself because you can express your feelings and emotions so directly on this instrument. As a Dutchman I'm proud with our own Candy Dulfer, a very hot lady who really can go mad on a sax. She's a great star, not only in the Netherlands, but also abroad and played with some of the greatest like even Prince! So there's light at the horizon. Many, many songs have intro's with saxophones, solo's etc. What about the sound of Sade's band? There the sax determines that typical jazzy sound. Without sax no Smooth Operator! So cheer up and don't dispair!

😅 It was a unique time. I graduated in 1980. And the Sunday before Mt. St. Helen's made an ash out of herself. By far the greatest music, movies and memories. I got married in 1988. I just lost the love of my life 4 years ago during COVID19 😢.
