@@leutnantmike02 Dollfuss had dictatorial powers before the civil war, but those weren’t absolute yet. Also he never „declared war on the socialists“ instead he began raiding their paramilitary headquarters all over Austria until they began an armed uprising in February of 1934 which was suppressed by the army and paramilitary forces. The federal state of Austria was proclaimed on may 1st 1934

He forced the emperor to leave the throne, so he's at fault for the first republic which was generally just shit. Then when the Nazis invaded he publically said he supports the Anschluss and that people should vote yes and then the Nazis kept paying him and he had a nice few years (while the Christian social politicians like Schuschnigg and Figl got sent to KZ for their resistance). And then after the war he created another republic and he made a deal with Stalin and let the communists into the government...
