This was the best podcast episode! I've listened to this three different times and have sent it to all my Sikh friends and urged them to listen to this. Please invite Kamalroop Singh or others that have researched the Dasam Granth! This has legitimately blown my mind. Thank you!

"Until we don't honor Guru Gobind Singh's bani, we're going to be stuck in this rut" VERY well said! Once I attended a Sikhi camp where they would recite the cut choupie sahib as per sgpc/Basuria. I found it uncomfortable, started raising questions to other attendees, and ended up challenging the camp heads on the subject. The controversy wasn't resolved, but I made a resolution to never, under any circumstances, submit to the cut version. The next morning I saw something in my meditation: a colorful group of Sikhs crowding the complex of Harimandir Sahib, the sangat had a glow about them and were loving, chaupei sahib had been officially restored. The rut that Kamalroop is talking about will certainly be broken one day and the Khalsa Raj will begin to blossom. It shall happen.

@@justiceprovider9822 Any ideas on why other sikh scholars reject dasam bani?
@justiceprovider98223 жыл бұрын
@@sahibsingh2036 they are too naive to understand the importance of Shri Charitropakhyan sahib and they see sikhi through a lens of sansari politics and find dasam granth sahib as a text that worships hindu gods which is not the case actually. This is all done in lieu of sansari raaj that makes them go against the guru himself, going as far as rejecting their bani. They haven't given their head and avoided paying to socities' opinions, rather are too hungery for kursi and proving others we are not muslim/hindu etc. Basically they have taken the soul, the spirituality out of sikhi and turned us into crypto Christians to prove we are not something xyz.

@@RamblingsofaSikh that’d be awesome. I’d love to watch a podcast on KZbin between you two. Only reason I bring this up is because I think the questions you raised about femininity and misogyny could’ve been discussed deeper here, which I believe a female researcher would be more inclined to do. 🙏🏽

I guess from a linguistic standpoint, everyone has a DNA when it comes to writing. There's sentence structure, word choices and of course, their style of speaking (voice). This is one of many aspects used in these specific studies. This doesn't include ink, page dating, historical elements as well.

This is nonsense largely. People were not as sophisticated and educated as these children trying to make sense of it by todays standards. Keep it simple. All the gurus were Hindu and never stated they had started a new religion. Its easy, you do not need a PhD or big words. I agree with the part that they attempted to make it accessible to the common man and woman in Punjab who had zero education.
