I like this egg bite cooker, I only wish the portion cups were a little bit larger. What do you guys think about these Dash units?

My new one came with 1 large silicone cup. Maybe they got this request a lot. I think any silicone cup that fits will work.

Not sure what I like best, the actual cooking or your soothing voice :) I recently picked up this same unit (aqua color too) mainly to use as a griddle but am inspired to play with the egg cups now!

I've been using my egg bite maker for a couple years. I make my breakfast eggs in it. I always buy jumbo eggs, so I crack one on the maker and add enough egg whites to fill the bottom of the maker. It takes 7 or 8 minutes to cook all that. Sometimes, I just use the egg whites. This, with a piece of toast and a fruit make my breakfast. I also use the maker to toast my lunch sandwich with cheese and lunchmeat. Sometimes, I spread butter on the outsides of the bread. This process only takes 3 or 4 minutes, and the cheese is nicely melted. I never tried bacon, but I think it would cut down on the grease spatter around the cooker. I just bought the family size, and I think I will use it in our camper for bacon or sausage patties I buy from ALDI. They are larger than the ones you can buy in the grocery store. Breakfast at deer camp is usually 3 ALDI frozen pancakes (75 seconds in the microwave) 1 sausage and one egg. With the large maker, I can probably do 3 sausage patties and my egg all at the same time. BTW, I bought 4 of the larger egg cups on Amazon. I think the four of those will fit in my family maker.

I’d put the egg base in each and then sprinkle with cheese, tomato, and basil to make sure it was evenly distributed. Might be easier to ensure it’s even. Great video!

I've only made the egg bites once, just a lot of work for those tiny things. I use the hot plate a ton. Use it to cook breakfast patties, hash browns, scramble or sunny side eggs and hamburger patty. Thanks for the cooking tips.

I completely agree, the bites are cute but yeah a lot of work for very little, I found later that the plate works pretty well also. My daughter asked me one day if it would work for her eggs and now she uses it.

I have one of these that I will probably use for grilled sandwiches and mug cakes. I think it takes kinda long for just four eggbites. I would rather use some silicone muffins cups that I have and put the egg batter into those and then into my ninja foodie with the racks and do two layers using the pressure cook feature. I made pumpkin cheesecakes with that feature and they turned out good.

I just got mine, the littles needed a bit more time(cooked I just like more done) but large one came out well. Still need to play a bit with it. Question, all the recipes say use cottage cheese? Do you know why? Taste or texture? Would any softened cheese work if blended in?? Thanks
@Jakecooks3 жыл бұрын
bit of a texture thing, I have used other cheeses, I have blended cream cheese, feta cheese, even shredded cheese and they all work fine. Cottage cheese just makes a smooth consistency and it also contains more protein than most other cheeses per quantity. They also say cottage cheese is recommended for weight loss, they say it helps increase feelings of fullness.
@jennifercline68663 жыл бұрын
@@Jakecooks Thanks for the info, I'd love to lose weight but can add plenty of veggies vs. the cottage cheese for fullness. Or texture, CCheese is gross. Don't do custards or ricotta either for texture reason, took me years to find eggs I'd eat. I have been curious why its the main thing I see added for egg bites. Thanks for responding.

@@jennifercline6866 Not a problem, I am also working on losing weight, one of the biggest changes I made since moving a couple months ago was cutting out a lot of sugars. Just reducing the sugar from sodas I have lost 16 lbs without changing too much else.
