That is a wonderful premise, but what really happened was "More Than Words" was a hit, it gave them popularity, while also overshadowing their true talent until the internet caught up. I saw them back in 1990/91 and he was doing the yawning thing even then, I was disappointed with it then and I still am to an extent. It's one of the most exciting solos I've ever heard, as a young 18 year old I was wanting heroic poses and flamboyant histrionics to match. Such an epic guitarist though.

I can play this solo more or less. I love Nuno. The audio is from a different take. When he yawns there’s is clearly palm muted picking in the audio but he plays it legato on the video. Also just after the solo intro there is a clear dive bomb (like the album version) but he doesn’t touch the tremolo in the video.

I was wondering if I was the only one who caught that. He clearly moves his picking hand up to his mouth to yawn around 4:30 but the tone of the notes doesn't change, you can still hear the pick.

Sure, with low enough action, you can fret notes and make them come through without the pick - but with the section we're discussing, the timbre of the guitar doesn't change when he removes his picking hand to do his fake yawn. It's nothing against Nuno, but whoever put this video together didn't use live audio or if they did, it's a different take.
