@@poordhoti6030You cannot generalise all of India like this. If you care to look you can find many vlogs on you tube where tourists travelling in India are invited by friendly Indians to visit their home. There are millions of good, honest Indians and of course some not so good. At the same time, while Nepalis are famous for their friendliness and honesty, not all Nepalis are as good as Bharat. There are many countries where you can travel and your life may be in danger - including my own.. But let's not spread hatred or start a war of words by saying one race or one nationality is better than another. It's a pointless and negative attitude, doing no one any good - including the person making the statement. Jai Nepal. Jai Hind. Pakistan Zindbad 🙂🙏

WOW brother! Happy Dashain - the celebration of good over evil. Watching your video has made me so happy because I have seen you experience the true heart and generosity of the Nepalese people and the unique vibes of a Nepali Dashain celebration. To me this is the perfect example of the beautiful Nepali culture: Bharat didn't know you; you were just a stranger walking in the street and yet you were invited to his home to join in as part of his family for the most important celebration of the year. (I'm sure this would rarely happen on the streets of Brussels or in Europe or America). It seems you were blessed by the spirit of Dashain . Nepal is full of good vibes at this time of the year. And did you know you also brought a blessing (or good luck) for Bharat and his family, because Nepalis believe that a visitor should be treated like a god and it is their privilege and honour to have the chance to invite a visitor or stranger into their home and make him or her feel welcome. And also they will have fun telling their friends and family about the very wet Belgian vlogger who came to their house for Dashain Usually by Dashain time the monsoon is over in Nepal, (damn climate change!) although Pokhara usually gets more rain than Kathmandu. The rain will clear up in a day or two and the air will be fresh and clean with warm sunny days. But the rain can also be thought of as a blessing as it comes from Indra the goddess of rain, And in your case you could say it was a blessing from goddess Indra because if it wasn't raining you would have visited Barahi temple and not had the chance to meet Bharat and his family and take part in this very special family celebration. You will get to visit Barahi temple later I’m sure when you take a boat ride on Fewa Tal (Lake Fewa). The tika is made from rice and yoghurt and the red colour comes from powdered sindoor, known as vermillion in English. (red is a very auspicious colour in Hinduism). The grass or sprouts that are put behind the ear is called Jamara. It is usually the sprouts of the barley plant (or can also be maize or rice). 10 days earlier the seeds were blessed and planted in a special small pot called a Kalash and then left in a darkened room to germinate and sprout. Because it is kept in the dark, it has the pale green- yellowish colour. For many Nepali families this will be one of the few days in the year when they eat meat as a family meal - especially in the villages. Actually, the "mutton" that you ate is goat meat and not sheep meat. They rarely eat sheep meat in Nepal. For me I prefer the taste of goat meat to sheep meat or what Europeans call mutton. Brother if you enjoyed celebrating Dashain, you will also love Bhai Tika festival. The sisters will honour and bless their brothers with a special multi-coloured tika that is put in a vertical line from the top of the forehead to the top of the nose and also give a small gift of fruit and sweets. In return the brothers will give the sisters a small gift of money. You can give whatever you can afford or like as it is really the gesture of giving that is more important than the amount you give. But as you've probably realised everyone is a “brother” or “sister” in Nepal. So if you are lucky you may meet a Nepali and have a conversation about the Bhai Tika festival and then get invited to a family's house to take part in the Tika ceremony. I hope you do. You will then be a true “Nepali brother” BTW, to address people in Nepal it is customary to call an older male "Dai" meaning older brother and a younger male "Bhai" meaning younger brother. (even if they are not your actual brother) You call an older female “Didi” and a younger female “Bahini”. This is more common than using the first name of the person. Brother before you go to Himal Pradesh for a trek, I highly recommend staying in Nepal and making an Annapurna trek from Pokhara. It is the perfect time of the year to make this trek. I suggest try the Ghorepani-Poon Hill to Ghandruk trek. It’s about 3 nights and 4 days. Ghandruk is a beautiful old-style traditional village of the Gurung people and from there you’ll get amazing close-up views of the Annapurna mountains and especially Machhapuchhre - the Fishtail mountain. Happy travels bro. Jai Nepal (long live Nepal)

In the same time you might help the needy ones. Happy dashain.❤️❤️❤️

@@timtense if you are staying here in Nepal till Tihar festival, then surely try Deusi program it will be very fun.
@timtense2 жыл бұрын
I'm still here. What's Deusi?
@anishbasnet59502 жыл бұрын
@@timtense It's a Nepalese ritual program. You can either ask local people's there or you can just search in KZbin 'Deusi Bhailo Songs' and you will know about it.

Hi Tim, I'm staying at Chhimeki hotel in Kathmandu. In a video that you made here the guy that brings you the food to your room told me to tell you that he wants you to cut him out of your video. The room service guy. Thanks man.

Hi there, thanks for telling me. I will have a look what the easiest solution is to edit an already uploaded video. Should be possible I think.

Monsoon till october is unheard in Nepal. This is where you get sunny days with blue skies before winter settles in. Damn you CLIMATE CHANGE. Also, no one does hospitality better than Nepali people. They invited a random person off the streets for a very personal festival.
@timtense2 жыл бұрын
Yes this late monsoon is annoying. Climate change is real. Hospitality has been overwhelming so far!
