First, nothing to do with the tire here : at around 70 kmh, your speed make it almost impossible to get the enough water "in the crack" to keep contact with the road. I mean, yes, good tire will help a lot to avoid having the same effect on less cumulation & less speed. But in this video, pretty sure everybody was over 100 and there was a lot more than a inch of water. Second thing, am I the only one that think that the camera man should have call the police/911 and we should have eventually seen them at a certain moment in this video? So, either he didn't call or police is very slow even knowing somebody gonna get hurt a lot!

You serious? It's scary that that massive pool of water isn't being fixed by the city. That's a highway. Even in bad weather, people will be driving fairly fast and hit that hard. The city needs to add drainage or raise that part of the road to stop flooding on the highway.

Yeah that was a huge overreaction. There’s a roundabout near my house (USA) and I see worse than that on a daily basis, and people usually don’t freak out over it. If I has a dash cam I could upload practically a video a day from interactions at it, including often having to hit my brakes pretty hard to not t-bone someone coming into the circle.

We were taught the posted speed, as written in the law, is the _maximum_ UNDER CLEAR DRY DAYLIGHT CONDITIONS. Mr. Cunningham taught us to reduce that speed by 5 mph for each condition not met. eg. 65 mph in foggy wet night time = 50mph.

Bruh, the 4 way stop is the dumbest invention ever in road design. It's precisely because of those that people in the US can't deal with any other kind of junction. In the ENTIRE rest of the world, there is no such thing as a 4 way stop, unless a rural area with no signposting for any direction. In europe, one direction always has right of way and the other a stop. Or if they are both busy, then there will be a traffic light. The UK likes roundabouts, and they are generally the best way to keep traffic flowing where 2 or more roads intersect.

#7 In my country, Spain, the normal thing is to call the emergency services, 112, the equivalent of the American 911, to send the police and road maintenance to mark and drain the water. From what I see, this is not done in the USA, because the person recording was recording for a while and did not notify the emergency services.

Some of these clips remind me of my time driving in Mexico City in 1972. They had very few lights. It was a very congested City and most people pulled out in front of you, daring you to hit the brakes to avoid a collision. Oh, and #11...Why are people at that intersection so stupid? I lived in Charleston, SC on Mt. Pleasant for a little while and that intersection has stop signs that say "opposing traffic doesn't stop", yet still there are almost daily accidents there because people can't read. Yeah, they passed their driving tests and somehow miraculously got a license, but they can't read stop signs properly...go figure. #7. Live in Portland, OR. Very familiar with the rainy roads. There are several sections of the interstate I avoid on heavy showery days. Not just he pools of water that causes the hydroplaning. The wake from a heavy truck or car can throw water on one's car and obscure visibility. A safer route may be longer on miles but much shorter in time.

The amount of water that’s on the inside of that corner tell me there’s a plugged drain for sure. There needs to be signage for possible high water if it’s a common occurrence there. If there’s no warning and it’s on the inside of a corner with barriers blocking the drivers view that’s a problem and is more on the state or county that maintains that road more than the drivers who didn’t look to be speeding or driving abnormally fast for the wet conditions. The people in the outside lane seemed to be moving faster and because of the lack of water that high in the corner they were just fine

#1 The Corolla driver is the type of person who forward parks all the time, the type that never returns their shopping carts, cruises in the passing lane, takes an exit the last second, doesn't do maintenance on their vehicle, thinks the world is out to get them, and always telling other drivers how to drive... A complete a hazard on the road is who that Corolla driver is 🙄

You know the intersection? Who's at fault here. It looks like the vehicle on the left cut into his lane, but at the same time, cammer also cut left towards the other vehicle.

@spderweb its hard to tell, the road is I579 between the Liberty bridge and the Veterans bridge, otherwise known as the crosstown expressway, in case you want to google map it. Its a confusing, congested area, with on/off ramps on both sides. Its easy to have an accident there....

2:05 No.7 The road engineers are responsible for that situation, by not leaving drainage in the road barrier they have effectively left a dam so when you get rain you get that situation. Hydroplaning, in some cases yes, but in most it would be like slamming on the brakes hitting water that deep. 4:07 No.10 DC wasn't paying attention there.
