These videos aren't actually from a concert. They were promo videos made for the album. They got this video played before showings of Rocky Horror, which helped launch the album. And I nearly died when the dad yelled that the song was about "Love!" Keep the Meat Loaf coming!

You can’t blame her for being confused. My 68 Impala was so big you needed a map to find your way out of the back seat and I swear to you that the trunk was actually a short box pickup bed that they put a cover over. The cars now are so small that many churches approve them as a form of birth control. I had a thought about coughing and sneezing. We were told to use our elbow to contain the spray better, which I agree works, but then they came out and told us to rub elbows instead of shaking hands. Were they trying to kill us?

The song is about the lust of two 17 year olds and their later regrets for listening to their desire and not their minds. It's very theatrical as Meat Loaf and writer Jim Steinman met during a production of a play. There's 4 albums they worked fully on that are more like stage plays when listened to in order. There's a couple of other albums they worked on a couple songs for so 6 all together. Listening to the song fully before asking what it's about would be a better time to ask especially with songs like this that tell you a story. FUN FACTS This is Meat Loaf's debut album Bat Out of Hell, but it's his 4th released album. He originally released a single for Popcorn Blizzard in 1968, which was very much a 60's sound. Then he released a Jazz/Soul duet album with Shaun Murphy (Stoney)from Motown called Stoney and Meat Loaf. He would then work on Free for All for Ted Nugent, whose singer left due to issues between the two. Each album is great but Bat Out of Hell & his solo career is what he's remembered for.

I was 14 when this song came out and it was clear what it was about. My view is that it should be required listening for every teen, and part of every sex education course --- food for a lively discussion. Kids will do what they have always done but let their eyes be open. That and it's got a rock'n beat.

My then High School girlfriend and I were in my car listening to this IRL. Everything was the same except we didn't get married so didn't have to deal with that. We're still FB friends. His real name was Marvin Lee Aday. He got his nickname (which was legally changed) by his dad when he played football in High School. He has many movie appearances over the years. Including but not limited to "Rocky Horror Picture Show", "Fight Club" and "Wayne's World". Btw they were BOTH regretting their commitment to each other. Sadly, we lost Jim and Meat within a few months of each other 😇😇 This song was written by the late Jim Steinman, he also played keyboard on this song. I wish I could have seen them in concert but sadly it never happened. 🙄 I still have the "Bat out of hell" LP "It was long ago, and it was far away, SO MUCH BETTER THAN IT IS TODAY."

Im from sweden btw so not the average USAI Love meat loaf i literally grew up on his music being the young boy of the family growing up with a metalhead sister back in the early 80's :) God i love ,y sister for brining me that kind of musc in my life Meatloaf, Anthrax, ACDC, Metallica and Helloween :) It made me experience life And My dad thaught me to dance to Status quo.

*JIM STEINMAN IS/WAS A ROCK GOD!!!* The lady in the video is NOT the vocalist in the studio and on the album. Ellen Foley did the studio vocals and Karla DeVito appeared in the video and went on tour with Meatloaf. Don't get me wrong, Karla DeVito is an AMAZING vocalist and is still making music today. In fact, Karla and Ellen released an album together recently.
