Rammstein (German pronunciation: [ˈʁamʃtaɪn]) is a German Neue Deutsche Härte band formed in Berlin in 1994. The band's lineup-consisting of lead vocalist Till Lindemann, lead guitarist Richard Kruspe, rhythm guitarist Paul Landers, bassist Oliver Riedel, drummer Christoph Schneider, and keyboardist Christian "Flake" Lorenz-has remained unchanged throughout their history, along with their approach to songwriting, which consists of Lindemann writing and singing the lyrics over instrumental pieces the rest of the band has completed beforehand. Prior to their formation, some members were associated with the punk rock acts Feeling B and First Arsch.

The three figures are the Norns. The Norns are deities in Norse, Germanic mythology who are responsible for shaping human destiny. Their names are Urðr, Verðandi, and Skuld. They stand for "what was", "what is" and "what is to come". They also care for and protect the "world(s) tree" Yggdrasill, which stands at the center of the universe and connects the nine worlds (Asgard, Vanaheim, Alfheim, Midgard (World of human), Jötunheim, Muspelheim, Nidavellir, Niftheim and Helheim) seen in the video as an kind of "hourglass" or "tree of sand" where the women give birth to the children.

The subtitles for the songs from the new album (Zeit) are very good in auto translate. For the older stuff you'll have to search for a translation in google or whatever search engine you like. They're often hard to translate though, because they love to play on words and double meanings. It's almost always worth to check them out though.

One of the things I find so interesting about reaction videos to this song is the difference between American reactions and UK/European reactions. I'm in the UK and I am always fascinated by the US reactors who freak out, swear, or cringe when it gets to the birth scenes. Hardly anyone in Europe/UK bats an eyelid.

English is a very simple language....you just need about 3000 words (German Highschool standard) to come by..The German Language has many more words because in a way we had so much more Philosphers who extendet our "Wortschatz" (Vocabulary) that special German words had made it to all kind of languages around the world...for example "Zeitgeist" or "Lebensfreude" or "Schadenfreude" etc.....Why? Because we are not only thinking about the world we also want to find the right words for that.......

Awesome reaction from both of you! 🤘 Yeah this is a really powerful song, especially with that outro. The black hooded figures are called Time Keepers in Germany apparently, so similar to death but a bit more so hence the part with the babies. That might also be why they don't have the traditional skulls as faces, instead it's a sort of time vortex. I find that the lyrics often add a lot of meaning to the song (not always), but also sometimes the video also adds depth to the lyrics. Auslander is a good case in point, the lyrics sound like they're just about sex tourism but the video is much more about colonial attitudes to the people colonised (in a fairly light hearted way).

Actually, they are the nornes of the nordic mythology, Urd (fate) Verdandi (to become) and Skuld (what shall be), also seen as past, present and future. As for the subtitles, it is better than nothing, but never the less, a lot is lost in translation. For example, the term "moment, would you please remain" is a famous quote of "Faust" one of the most famous literature works of germany. And a lot of the lyrics are phrases used in german everyday language, which is simply geniusly used by Rammstein.

I interpreted it a bit simpler than that. It seemed like a forceful statement that Rammstein were back in action again, because visual shows them being uncovered by the Sands of Time at the same time. Now you are on the right way. Rammstein is not only best videos and best live shows on earth, Rammstein is also lyrics. Sometimes it would be better for fathers to do what daughters tell them to do. In Germany there is also a law that daughters are allowed to tie their fathers to a chair during a KZbin reaction video and are also allowed to gag them. Never use auto translate, it fails under two conditions: 1. singing instead of speaking. Auto translate is for clear voices, singing is outside of its realm of usefulness. 2.: Music in the background. You cannot have auto translate, if you are not stupid, with music in the background. Unless you are denser than a brick, you really only want auto translate on a voice that is not singing, with as little background noise as possible, especially not music. Using auto translate on a song performed with a band is setting you up to fail. It is a double no no. The translation will be nonsense. Your ineptitude got overridden because the band put in an official english subtitle track, which overrides your poor settings. Your approach will fail hard unless an official translation properly intengrated in KZbin redeems you without you even noticing.

And here it's even more: Time, I beg you, stand still.... here Till Lindemann uses german language in a beautiful way, wich seems to reappear from a time we nearly forgot. And the three hooded "figures" represents the three nornes of northern mythology who announce or direct fate. Verdanđī (the present); Ůrd (the past) and Śkůld (the future). The 3 hooded figures are most likely The Norns 3 cloaked sisters aka time spinners, time Keepers, time weavers. Very basically they represent Passed, Present and Future. They appear in most Celtic and Nordic beliefs of northern Europe with sligh variations. The Romans liked them to the fates of there own beliefs similar to the Greek beliefs. All this is in the writings of the Roman's.

One thing I want to say about your reaction is, the cloaked figure is not Death, it is Time. He was there when you were born and he is there when you die. We are all on a one way trip to our death and we would like Time to stop at our best moments in time so we can enjoy it longer and we want Time to stop before we die because we want to have more good moments. But Time just goes on and there is nothing we can do about it, so treasure the good moments in life because we only have limited time here before it ends.

Thanks for reacting to my favourite band :))) If you wanna hear more you should do "Mein Herz brennt" original video and/ or piano version. Or the live performances, they are the best live band. You should do "Du Hast" live in Paris. It's amazing! If you want a ballad you can do "Seemann" live 2016 to hear Till's amazing vocal skills. It's just the beginning guys, they have A LOT :))))

First, Dashy indeed is a smart girl. The three 'Timekeepers' do not represent death itself, but probably are an allusion to Old Germanic/Norse pre-Christian beliefs. According to Old Norse Völuspa, the sinister figures are the Norns (Old Norse: the Whisperers). Three immortal female figures sit on the banks of the river Urd (Destiny) by the roots of the world ash Yagdrasil and weave the thread of destiny for gods and humans. The first and oldest norn is called Urd and she is the namesake of the river. She represents the past. Urd is an old woman who always looks over her shoulder at the past. The second norn is called Verdandi (present tense). She has the form of a young woman. The third norn is called Skuld (guilt / the becoming) Skuld represents the future. Skuld always faces the opposite direction from Urd. To this day, parts of the pre-Christian faith have been preserved in the German language. In Germany, for example, when a person is in mortal danger, they say "his/her life is hanging by a thread". If the thread of life is cut, the person dies.

Everything is backwards. First you see men with rifles and later boys with playing with sticks. If you look carefully you see that the baby is going back. Singer also says time has no mercy if your time has come you have to go.

Hi dad here my timing was bad as I too was trying to interpret what my eyes and brain were seeing Which is why I didn’t want it paused just then try being a dad and not being dad if you know What I mean we both are trying to learn about rammstein and properly react with the respect and love they deserve thanks. And I have now watched the entire reaction again and you do have a point but please if you comment again keep it respectful.
