Steffan Pila I agree, Fleschiman's Version is very good. It reminds me of Bradley Delp from Boston or maybe Steve Walsh from Kansas. This Version of "Anytime" Rocks to the core. Thank you, Robert Fleschiman, for writing the biggest Journey song to date, "Wheel In The Sky." Cheers!!!

Yeah, but that's not a good thing for one band to sound like another. That's almost the kiss of death in the industry. I remember when Men at Work came out, and they kinda had the Police soundi. What happened to the Police and what happened to Men at Work? The Police had tons of hits and one of the best selling bands of all time, Men at Work? One hit wonder with a one way ticket to now where. Even Perry had mentioned that he didn't want Journey to sound like another band. Sorry, but this version sucked, that's why Columbia didn't release it and Robert got replaced by Perry.

Terrific. Yes, Robert sounds like a Bradley Delp-type here. Steve had a more nuanced voice.than the other Power-Rock singers of the 70s. Fleischman was a genius writer.

This is amazing! I have known about his short lived tenure with Journey, live video, and Twodemos (Wheel in the Sky and For You). This is really cool! Where did you find it?! Have any more?!

Journey messed up by not having him just record the next album. They were afraid that the fans would not buy the album knowing it was more mainstream sounding. But instead they ended up getting Steve Perry and recording and the album sold so well they didn't need the old fans. To make matters worse for Robert, he was asked to join the supergroup Asia, but declined because John Wetton's vocals were too good on the demos for him to think he could improve on them.

It's actually done by both Gregg and Steve and it didn't drag like this one does. This version drags a little in the first half. Robert was just a little over the top, with a prototypical rock singer voice. I saw Robert in his last gig with Journey at Oakland Day on the Green , just about everyone around where I was sitting thought he sucked and didn't fit Journey, at all. I had already seen Journey a bunch of times before that. it took me a little while to get into Journey with Steve Perry, but the Infinity album does kick ass. It's one of my favorites. I can see why they didn't release this version.

Stevie version? He only sang the little bridge. This was a Gregg song. This version is really good, especially the end; they should have kept that part. It would be much better if it were just a touch faster.
