Thank you, Midnight Special, for posting both of these classic tracks!

Like most lyrics by Journey, they are sparce but effective mostly because of the vocals. Two short verses, and the chorus which they start with (just like 'Lights") then 2 short verses. Lights only has one verse and a refrain...it is mostly chorus. But Perry can make 'row row row your boat" into pure Magic I'm standin' here with my arms a mile wide I'm hopin' and prayin' for you Listen to me and enlighten me, yeah I hope that you need me too, 'cause Give me all of your sunshine A spark is all I need To take it away, out of the shadows Well, what more can I say, yeah, yeah

Here are the facts: Dunbar got fired from the band because Perry didn't like him and Ainsley tended to gravitate towards "younger" girls. Gregg Rolie left Journey because he didn't like Perry and he was tired of touring. Perry was basically fired from Journey in 1996, because of his attitude and making the band wait too long for him to get his hip problem taken care of.
