Fighter craft are always one of my favourite ways to fight. I played Gallente in Eve to focus on Drones and will basically always move to carrier type races/builds where possible. They seem to fit me pretty well overall, will definitely have to try them now I'm done testing the two new factions.

I find the Acdarians as the easiest race to play. Getting the fighter bays early make a big difference and you can steam roll on science. A good race for beginners to pick. Win on Very Hard without even one war to fight.

I have never tried fighters ..can fighters / bombers use the ion weapons? and if so what do you think of that idea or is that perhaps a waste?

Out of curiosity, do you tend to go down the early beam weapons tree or the early pulse weapons tree to build your fighters? for the ackdarians of course.
