Software development companies don't invest time building their own packages, they instead use the open-source packages. Thereby in real software building process the developer doesn't have to spent time on space or time complexity they just pick the trendy modules/packages and build the software as fast as possible. Developer and engineer roles are different. Today's companies are mixing these two totally different fields

Bro if you are interested in coding don't go for it, I use to think i don't enjoy coding until I got a CIS role which is where you will probably start with when you are going for DevOps and Cloud Computing, here you will learn linux , Windows, and Network Administration and some hypervisors. You will get tickets to resolve as most of companies have already bulit the infrastructure. And DevOps and Cloud computing engineering roles are support roles as you have to support the software engineers who will be using that infrastructure.

Companies like Amazon and Microsoft will pay u good and it will be a relaxing job bit they will only hire top 0.2 percent people who have got research articles and have published good papers. They are one of the most paid people in IT industry but only top few people. If you join TCS, Capgemini, or Cognizant kind of companies your pay will be around 3 lpa and won't be Increasing as long as you remain in service based company. And most of these jobs are done in service based companies.

There are mainly broadly 2 paths in IT, 1. Programming ============== 1.1 Web/Mobile/Software development, design, testing. Also databases (Various SQL, NoSQL databases) NB: Blockchain also uses same skills of web front end, just backend is different. 1.2 Data science/Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning/Deep Learning/ Computer vision/ Natural Language Processing etc. 2.
