Dataline - SNIFFTAKT (Machinedrum only track)

This track was made only on the Machinedrum, running the X.05 unofficial firmware. Stereo out and 4 individual tracks have been recorded separately into Ableton from the Machinedrum extra outputs: AmenBreak, Bass, Kick, KicknSnare. Only some minor compression and limiting was applied to the master channel on Ableton before rendering, to get the sound a bit boosted without changing the character and quality.

Dataline, you have been a huge inspiration for me, always loved your elektron videos, and you've inspired me to purchase many of their incredible machines I even struggled for awhile considering a name change as I didn't want to seem like a Dataline ripoff this track is awesome, wish elektron still made machinedrum and monomachine

I wish they would remake the machinedrum as well. I can't justify the insane prices people are asking for them on Reverb. I recently picked up a Syntakt because I figured it was about as close as I could get to the Machinedrum experience for a somewhat reasonable price. The reason that I don't think that Electron will make another Machinedrum is because it does too much. They sell a lot of boxes that are tailored to more specific things now and people get hooked on them and buy them all. That's a good business model. A Machinedrum with sampling covers way too many bases. As we're witnessing here, you can make entire tracks that are really good on just one Machinedrum. Just my thoughts, anyway. Didn't mean to hijack your Data Dudes convo.

@@dnbsoldier7259 To be fair, £2k is a reasonable price for a drum machine that has several different models of drum machine inside of it, as well as a sampler, and live sample mangling, and input machines, and excellent MIDI control, and so much more. I mean, look how much the Erica Synths Perkons costs. And consider the distinct lack of features on the Perkons in comparison.

Especially the TONAL addition on some of the machines has made the MD so much useable. And with the MegaCommand, it goes even further than the current Elektron tricks :)

@@visible7044 yeah! Just search for the latest unofficial firmware update. It adds new Lfo's plus lots of other cool bits, it also makes it far easier to tune the sinewave- you can essentially add two extra tones to make it sound really fat. Its cool!
