Datamosh Glitch Transitions Tutorial - After Effects, no plugins

This video shows you how to make the trippy melting video glitch using only After Effects' built-in content-aware fill feature! No third-party plugins required! I noticed this effect has been trending a lot lately on tiktok and instagram so I wanted to try it in after effects. This method is the result of lots of tests lol.

Thanks for this! I don't think the fractal noise is needed since it's not actually duplicating P-frames. The rest of the effect is so good on its own. I wish the AEscripts Datamosh plug-in was more like this.

interesting ...... I cant wait to try this. I'd been using avidemux, but I dont like that it often makes clips even lower quality than when they went in. muddies the colours.

hey after i generated fill layer, it seems to work but it fades off automatically towards the end. any tips?
