Also every ranking video: Misleading or wrong. Putting iron in the title just made everything about this video wrong. Australia produces the most iron by far, about 20% of all iron comes from Australia, 10% from Brazil and 4% from Sweden to give some pointers. Their video is only about steel production, not iron and steel as it says in the title.

Also, China is one of the lowest violent crime rate country in the world. China did not own the world any money, while our country is getting better everyday. On the other hand the US owe China at least 1.1 trillion US dollar. owe Japan 1.7 trillion total owe the 4.1. and The US gov debt is 23 trillion now growing and growing.

@@aes-256e german confederation ended in 1866 not 1848. Then it became north german confederation. Then in 1871 it became german empire until 1949. Then german federal republic. Technically todays germany is still west germany. German democratic republic was "annexed". But the creator of the video included german states like bavaria/baden why didn't he change germany to prussia? Terms like "third reich" or "weimar republic" were never official. Weimar republic was still the german empire. So it changed names 5 times.

It is true that one can not build a country without steel, that is a central element that industrialization needs. China: is becoming most industrialized nation since about three decades ago is surpassing the US in most major metrics like steel production. US: surpassed former number one industrialized nation UK around the turn of twentieth century. UK: was the inventor of very first industrialization and stayed number one for about 100-200 years. Others: were involved in wars or were building up industries, Nazi Germany during WWII, Soviet during Cold War ...

Once, in the 90s, happened that a whole train shuttle full with scrap metal for steel factory to vanish. Literally vanish. The train had at least a dozen wagons full with scrap metal and they knew that it shall arrive at a certain date and time, but didn't appear and they halted the steel production for 3 weeks because lack of materials. Costs in the West are high not because of the lack of domestic production but because of the high cost of labor. Average Western person is becoming too expensive for firms to keep their products at a so called 'consumer friendly price' which doens't mean a fair price. Firms (rather/have to) move to others countries with lower labor costs or hire only people who are willing to work for a low salary to keep their products at this 'consumers friendly price rate'. The US GDP is growing at an acceptable rate so there's no lack of production and productivity is mostly being compensated by the influx of immigrants who work for way less. The US can upkeep its primary and secondary sectors due to this high influx of low cost workers even though Western countries are focused on its tertairy sector as main sector. On the other hand higher developed European countries are struggling to upkeep its primary and secondary sectors due to the lack of low cost workers even though there are already a reasonable amount working in the 'higher developed countries' most of them coming from Poland, Ukrain, Spain, Morocco, Belarus, etc. since Europe isn't that large these people aren't always immigrants, but stay in said country to work and return home for short periods (this way firms can also avoid the social taxes). The more notable becoming problem with Western countries is that the average family is demanding more and more for way too less. We rather consume goods at a lower price who are produced in foreign countries and under bad working conditions then consuming our own domsetic products at the high but (depends) fair price. Our own greed is becoming our downfall but we're too blinded by 'oUr' wealth. The answer on your statement is, construction cost aren't high because of the lack of production but because construction materials have to be from high quality, high quality materials which are for a reasonable price only found in the domestic market. And specialised construction workers (plumber, electrician,...) are also acquired from the more expensive domsetic market. On the other hand regarding big firms who offer regular construction workers are most of the time low cost foreign workers.

Not only steel production, but production in general collapsed after the Romanian revolution in 1989. It never recovered. People say that communism was bad, but it had good parts. Just look. Romania was on the leaderboard, peaking at 12th place, then, in 1990, we just disappeared.
