Question in the beginning of this video what is that handle looking thing on your front porch by the flag pole holder? Just curious if it’s a cute light or what. Fun video today. I tell myself buy once and buy well now when I make big purchases.

Yes, Round Top is destination antiquing, for sure. A group of us went by train out of Oakland [now out of Emeryville]. Sleeper car for the 3-day adventure. Rented a van and not only are the roadsides full of great items but there is a new show that opened each day for 9 days. Once we started buying larger items, we found a fellow who was coming back our way and he went from booth to booth to pick up our things over that 9-day haul. The main show that is known as ‘Round Top Antiques’ is by far the most expensive but they have things only found in New England and were delicious to look at!

Hi Robbie...I am a born and raised Texan and yes, Round Top is great! Besides the Fall and Spring shows, they have a January show, where I have found a lot of vendors have vintage garden items! I have been going to Round Top and have also sold items at the Big Red Barn....wear comfortable shoes and even bring a second pair to change into when your feet get tired and bring your water. I actually recognized at least one girl in the group photos you highlighted from the antique store! I think she became a cheerleader at the University of TX when I attended and was in the Longhorn band! Small world........

Hi Robbie! It's always fun going antiquing and plant shopping with you and Brent. It's too bad you didn't find anything you loved in your price range. The wire plant stands were really cool, and so was the big hutch. It's too bad the one cupboard only had the one door. It didn't seem very practical. The flower pot turned out so pretty. It definitely needed those plants. Thank you so much for sharing!

After watching you shop at 8th and main, and seeing the english chimney topper(next to the swans outside) i had to make the trip today (saturday) to buy it. I have been searching for one for years. Anyways, i do mosaics and plan on making it into a plant holder, possibly an asparagus fern. Thanks for showing your shopping trip!

I started a forty foot long, 7-10 ft. tall hedge from a four inch pot of wire vine. It has structure from trellises from Cottage garden and the fence.

Robbie, glad you rearranged the plants. When you were planting, I kept thinking too much white in one side and too much green on the other. 😂 The final version looks wonderful.

You do know that Round Top happens twice a year in spring and fall. I used to go twice a year with friends or family. Was always so much fun. Now, I can't walk as much but still love to drive up. Royers Cafe is wonderful. There is also a musical school there you can go to, listen to concerts in the most beautiful wooden old world looking opera house with gardens attached.

Last year i found a dwarf ginko tree at high hand in loomas. Its so beautiful, i love it. I also bought wire vine from plant barn a few years back, it tried to take over my yard. Very invasive. Beware

Hey Robbie, Round Top had really neat stuff but very high end and expensive. You can get the same quality stuff for a fraction of the price at First Monday in Canton and it happens once a month. It is the world's largest flea market! Come visit!

Robbie, I think those oil lamps may possibly have been mounted in a carriage or even in a ship, as they move to stay level. I would love to find a pair of them. Many cool finds in that store.

Robbie go back and get the tiki torch that’s a good price and it would look absolutely beautiful in your garden lit up. So OK I’m just now watching your show today so I got to see what else you find. But I had to tell you that plus the little reindeer, candles snuffers that was $18 that seems a little much I bought two at Hobby lobby last year. They were Christmas trees candles snuffers but they were only couple of dollars. I think it was either during the 50% off sale or after Christmas sale but anyway they’re not that expensive.
