I think this space would look so gorgeous with a Japanese Holly between each of the espalier apples!!! Lean into the formal background and then go cottage wild in front of them.!!!

Robbie the addition of the evergreens is perfect You should hang an evergreen wreath with a pop of red berries on your garden door. That would look stunning 😍

Some really beautiful shots in this video, the rain, the gorgeous rose next to the espalier trees and how perfectly framed the taller holly was in its home. Thanks for the reminder it’s a learning process and the laugh from reaction to the fertilizer smell😆

I planted verbena three years ago and it finally is self seeding. It adds such a romance to the cottage formal garden. 🐝🌼

I am so glad you mentioned this Rose!!!My fall project was putting in a small parterre garden, something I’ve dreamed of for years. I got the boxwoods in, my husband poured a cement base for a fountain in the center and cement sidewalks around the outside of the garden. I’ve been researching rose standards for each of the 4 quadrants. I keep going back to the Desdemona. But have just been unable to commit, but hearing you say it’s one of your’s and Brent’s favorites has sealed the deal for me. Thank you!

Hi Robbie, For evergreen interest in the back, next time you go to the nursery ask to see a Sweet Olive plant. They smell so good, like a cottage garden should smell! Happy Gardening!

The space with your creative door is going to be awesome. You have such a great vision. And a new rooster next door. Have a great Thanksgiving Robbie and Brent.

Beautiful! The neighbor’s roof at the 9 minute mark looks like that could be another spot for another beautiful fake door. It would look like another little house on your property. 😊

Great ideas still liking the door in the garden. I will look for the scrubs today. Thank you

Love the Hollies. I deal with stray cats in my front flower beds also, I scatter a few moth balls in the bed to deter the cats. Works great for me.

Love the sky pencil Hollie’s! They need a lot of water and if you ever see them dropping leaves or thinning in the middle, just give them more water. How about painting the door the same green as the garden boxes? White seems like it would be too bright and stick out like a sore thumb. Or just to be different you might try a darker red. Glad everyone got to go to Hawaii.

I’ve always wanted to drape amaranth over a window, like a valance. So pretty! And my neighbor gave me a sky pencil holly, but now I realize it’s a holly and likes acidic lol duh, I need to move it and get some holly tone.

Oh boy! I’m sorry you are living by a rooster. Our neighbor has one even though they are prohibited in my town. He crows from 3:45am until just after dark. The city made her get rid of her 2 previous ones, but this new one magically came with an emotional support animal letter and the city can’t figure out what to do with that. 🤬

I don’t want to alarm you but I think you have a HUGE deer pressure issue in your front yard. I hope all your pretty plants are deer resistant! 😜🦌🇨🇦
