I think the tears she squeezed out were from her own personal frustration and that she was not so concerned with Estis happiness (as she claimed,) as with Esti marrying the guy because she was embarrassed that her daughter was still dating and she was scared of people finding out, being as they're ultra orthodox. I sure hope the marriage goes well for the couple though. What was the lawyer lady's name? What a beautiful person she is! What a shame that her reason for divorcing her husband was not made known by the dating agency! his parents were not very lovely either. First his mom asks him if the girl is prettier than she is, to stop from fighting he doesn't answer just gives her a quick shoulder hug. Then when the girl comes over to meet the parent the mom sort of ignores her and the dad asks which one is this and names off three girls.... and then in the next second asks if she will be okay living with them or not. The girl isn't too stupid so she says she will need a minute to think, the dad continues to be an intimidating jerk and says you can even have 2 minutes. The mom asks if the girl wants a drink, the girl says no thanks, the mom says I'll get you some anyway so you won't say you weren't treated while over here, when she declines once more the mom insists you better have some so my son doesn't have to spend money on you getting you a drink while you are out. Chill? Oh yeah, super chill. Geez., what a family. Even though this girls mom is stupid and pushy, his family is worse and she married down.

@@blackhole-chan4619 sorry but saying that "back in the days blind marriages worked fine" is a blatant lie. It's well-known that keeping a lover beside a spouse became a thing *because* forced marriages sucked. I've dated toxic people before my SO. I can't imagine myself commiting my life to a narcissistic/sociopathic/manipulative/liar/stupid/cheater/lazy/dirty/horrible in bed person (such things are not obvious even after weeks, months, or years), or to someone who differs from me in everything. We MUST know what traits we're (not) looking for in a long-term partner.

@@BenefitCounterbench There's a difference between 'forced' and 'arranged' marriages. What is shown in the video is not forced, it's arranged by family, the participants choose whether or not to move forward with it. >It's well-known that keeping a lover beside a spouse became a thing because forced marriages sucked. People still do this even in western society where you're free to be as promiscuous as you want. Marriage rates have gone down drastically, just because people 'choose' who they date, doesn't mean they're more committed or happy. Dating as a whole is a minefield in today's age. If dating actually worked, divorce rates surely would be at record lows would they not? In theory, women get to choose who they marry and same with men, they should be happier, but no. Divorce rates are at record highs, people go through dozens of partners and they lose their ability to pairbond successfully with one person, which increases the rate of divorce. Also, arranged marriages are statistically more longer lasting and happier than 'love' marriages.

I feel so grateful I grew up in a non orthodox Jewish home … my mother or bubbi didn’t have a match maker for me… nor was anything expected from me but education to be a strong and independent woman. I should say thank you mom.. you truly were the best role model I could ever ask for. As for my bubbi, she was a trail blazer for Jewish women. Mazel Tov ladies to all my Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, and Christian women in my life. ( if I forgot your religion, I apologize). ♥️🇨🇦

Some things exist equally across cultures. My wife was always late (I refer to it as chronic lack of analysis). I was always early. Guess what didn't change in marriage (she is still always late, and still nearly 20 years later gets flustered and despite many of the occasions being something she does regularly, she will despises my suggestion of "make note of how early you begin to get ready. Then note how late you are for ___ in minutes, and next time, subtract that from your start time and see what happens". It will never happen!! Some of her friends are later than she is. It only gets awkward when a group gets together and someone invites another couple without warning them. They arrive at the event on time and some of the participants are over an hour late.

I really dislike that, it's disrespectful. In fact, at 25 minutes if the person hasn't called, I leave and go home and don't answer their calls. The next week when they call me I say "We had a date? When? Friday? Oh, I went to Lowes to look at tile, why didn't you call me? "
