@@Spaceman99966 ok relax, he clearly does a little more research and reading than most average people. whether or not you agree doesn't change the fact that you can respect the effort. also debates are not held to the same standard as being a normal human that can have a convo without shrieking. most of the time debates are just both sides shrieking at each other without actually having a productive convo. this convo seems to have been a constructive one. he showed he was willing to bite bullets and change his perspective on certain aspects. that's a highly respectable trait. whether or not you agree with him or not.

They all say "my God they've bombed all the hospitals" they haven't bombed them, they've raided them and they've been damaged in fights. But then they wrote articles that say "IDF STRIKES ;))))) AL SHIFA" This is just a massive propaganda war.

Well, its not really source quality, its just worldview perspective with some added biases. Like, if I show you 100 videos of cops being shot or stabbed in crazy situations, you might be more supportive of police or understand their perspective a whole lot more. But if I showed another person 100 videos of police brutality or police killings, then they''ll be marching in a BLM protest. Even if you can provide 100 peices of individual evidence, it doesn't necessarily make either perspective right or wrong. Because it should never be "i watched x amount of brutal videos, therefore the other side must be wrong". Because if thats the case with Israel, every country on the earth that isn't a tiny island has done shady corrupt fucked up shit, but I don't say a whole group is evil or in the wrong because I was able to provide individual anecdotal data points. And a lot of times, even if thats not the reason they cited for disliking one side, it stems from the first bias they have where they see brutal videos, then every point just extends from that.
@bulldozer8950

But I had 5 sources and you only had 4! Debate won! Ignore the fact one of mine was known propaganda and the other 4 just cite that source. Which if you don’t know, is a conservative satire organization. It’s the same as quoting the onion seriously as real life fact, it’s just not true and completely fabricated.

Israel stated at the ICJ hearing that 70 food trucks on average were necessary pre-October 7th to feed Gaza. At the date of the hearing, 109 trucks on average were getting into Gaza. I think there was a question of water and there was no listing of how many water trucks were required. Also, cooking fuel is important to the calculation. Based on the number of trucks entering Gaza, there is enough food. The bigger questions are is the food able to get to where people are living inside Gaza? Clearly, getting food up north in Gaza is more difficult - because the trucks get hijacked by Hamas, other militant groups, and general lawlessness. When some of the UN agencies were called out on the fact that Israel is not limiting food from entering Gaza, they changed tact and started to complain that it was too dangerous for trucks to travel - implying that Israel was bombing too much, but likely also sandbagging that there are armed bands looking to steal entire trucks or unload trucks. A huge element is the black market that has cropped up in Gaza whereby Gazans are selling donated food at particularly inflated prices. That masked band of Gazan militants that was going around with sticks was supposedly making sure that prices charged for the food at these black markets was not too high. Israel is under an obligation to inspect food aid, but allow it inside Gaza. However, it is my understanding that because it is a hostile population that Israel is not required to defend the trucks getting to destinations inside Gaza - as that would further place its troops in harm’s way. Article 23 of Geneva Convention indicates that a belligerent army must allow food, water, and medical supplies in to the civilians through third parties. Permitted to inspect. As long as these items are not diverted to the enemy.

Israel LIED in the icj hearing about 70 trucks being all that's was required. Even if just 25% of the pre war aid was food that's 125-150 trucks. And that HAD to be supplemented by the little production of food that gaza was able to produce to avoid starvation spreading. This is persuant to the Israeli policy of only allowing enough calories in aid to enter gaza to keep each gazan at near starving levels. In other words the minimum amount legally required. So even if all 100 trucks were food, it's not nearly enough aid to avoid starvation. Add on top of that the fact that israel bombs airstrikes and navy bombarded aid convoys AND, As you've pointed out, there's extreme difficulty getting the aid where its needed due to the idf wantonly destroying civillian infrastructure. @ibitedou I think that "loaded" simply implies concepts not explicitly stated; to me, deceptive language doesn't need to be intentional and may also be loaded but uses word choice to obfuscate or misdirect certain levels of attention. For example, someone that got fooled into a pyramid scheme may use deceptive language before realizing that it's deceptive.

@@ReddFoxx1562. You have a point, loaded and deceptive do represent different use cases. I somewhat-ironically misrepresented your comment by superimposing my own viewpoint. With regards to the pyramid scheme, I would separate the person unwittingly evangelizing the scam from the scam itself.

I'm 1 hour into this and so far one key point is missing from the discussion: the framing of this conflict: From Israel's perspective it has wholly withdrawn out of Gaza (back in 2005), and no longer controls this area. Case in point, up until the current invasion it was wholly controlled by Hamas, which is antagonistic to Israel. Indeed, Israel considered Hamas to be the government of Gaza. As a result, the current conflict is a war between Israel and Gaza. In that context, the suffering of Gaza's population is what happens to people when their government start a war and are losing and the fighting takes place inside their country. From the perspective of many of Israel's detractors and various international organizations, Israel was still occupying Gaza all the way to October 7th. Hence the current conflict is not a war - it's a policing action. Hamas is not its government or a fighting force, just a bunch of insurgents operating in that territory, which is under Israeli control. When that is the perspective, any Israeli operation which adversely impacts Gaza's population is seen as "collective punishment". I think that second position is ridiculous.

@@evamurray2564 how do you claim that the second is ridiculous when the international community other than only the US considers Gaza an occupied territory still when Israel has control over what and who enters and leaves the territory through land and sea blockades, even restricting Palestinian fishermen’s ability to fish before Oct 7th. They have complete control over the water, electricity, internet/cell service over the territory. They have always conducted military action within the territory after 2005 when they allegedly gave control of Gaza to the Palestinians all the way up to the present with air strikes. Yeah, sounds to me like Israel doesn’t occupy Gaza at all, just controls all forms of their commerce including what they’re allowed to import and prevents Gazans from leaving the territory as well unless allowed by Israel. When people refer to Israel controlling the electricity supply of Gaza as an example, they usually relate to the blockade which restricts the import of gas/petrol for energy infrastructure, which mind you Egypt is also complicit in. -Egypt doesn't perform checks on Gazan imports and exports -Straight up false, Egypt is the main contributor to the blockade aside from Israel, which means imports and exports are highly restricted by Egypt.

However, for a rough estimate, let's assume an average meal weight of around 0.5 kilograms (500 grams) per meal. Now, we can calculate the number of meals in 20 tons: 1 ton = 1000 kilograms So, 20 tons = 20,000 kilograms If each meal weighs approximately 0.5 kilograms: Number of meals = Total weight (in kilograms) / Weight per meal (in kilograms) = 20,000 kilograms / 0.5 kilograms per meal = 40,000 meals So, there would be approximately 40,000 food meals in 20 tons, based on the assumed average meal weight. times 90 trucks per day it's 3,600,000

It is even less complicated than that. A standard 53 ft trailer has 26 spots for pallets. A pallet could hold 1 ton of apples or 1 ton of flour. The one ton of flour could feed way more people than a ton of apples. A person needs 2k calories to survive a pound of flour is 1500 calories. If they switched to dehydrated potatoes 1 pound would be 1800 calories. a truck load is usually around 40k pounds . In an ideal situation you could feed over 2 million people with 60 truck loads.

Can't believe I made it 40 minutes into this. This is basically just Destiny trying to show this guy how to actually do research and he doesn't get it. To make an analogy this guy is like, "so this guy is claiming someone talked to him through a burning bush so God is real and we should do x in his name" Destiny: "wait a second, was this guy high when the Bush 'talked to him'?" This guy: "The only reason you would ask that is because you're skeptical that God exists, why can't you just accept God talked to this guy through a burning bush?" Like this is bog standard research. This guy doesn't do anything beyond the first step of research which is, find something that on the surface seems to confirm my conclusion. Unfortunately, this is all that most people are interested in doing or perhaps more scarily it's all they know how to do because school never taught them anything else. This is why I watch Sitch and Adam. Because Sitch autistically digs into every claim. I'm glad Destiny has started doing this too, after finally getting out of his far lefty arc.

Humanitarian aid is assistance that’s used to relieve suffering during emergency situations. This is different from development aid, which is assistance that goes to addressing ongoing issues that contribute to human suffering. To think about it a bit more, we can say that, in general, humanitarian aid directly benefits people while development aid is used to improve structural systems

7:22 the basis of this guys entire argument is that Israel is an “occupying power” Yet fails to mention when they *won* that territory in the 6 Day War and chose not to annex the territory because they didn’t want it.. Putting an embargo on a territory that’s full of terrorists out to destroy you *is not* an occupation.. if that was the case the USA has been occupying Cuba for like 60ish years now..
@shizz3907
@shizz3907 Ай бұрын
They don’t just embargo, they control who enters and exits, water, electricity, cell service/internet, commerce, conduct unilateral military actions in the territory even after 2005, enforce a blockade against Gaza, even restricted fishing off the shore of Gaza by Palestinians before the events of Oct 7th. Comparing Israel’s relationship with Gaza to the US’s with Cuba is the most disingenuous framing possible. America doesn’t conduct military action in Cuba, doesn’t blockade Cuba, doesn’t control critical infrastructure that Cuba relies on, doesn’t prevent people in Cuba from exiting Cuba without explicit permission, doesn’t control Cuba’s ability to import what they want from other countries. Like there’s so much that is dissimilar from the two situations that it’s comical that you’d make this comparison you’re either not fully thinking about what you’re saying or really just being disingenuous
