can we appreciate rose for a second? she's a very mature woman, brave, and genuinely knows what she wants in a relationship. after being constantly embarrassed by him in the publics eye, she finds the strength to stand up to him and be completely transparent about her disappointment, and anger. she handles the fact he doesn't want children extremely maturely, even though in that situation, anyone can lash out and become angry. Especially when lied to so many times. I feel like rose never "snapped" back at Ed because she did her best to not put him down in TV, to keep things respectful and honest between them. yet Ed didn't, only after they slept he told her the truth. which is absolutely gross.

I LOVE how Rose always starts her sentences with "I feel..." when she's disappointed-in this case almost entirely because of Ed. She rarely if not never uses condescendence to retaliate against him, which is something a lot of people-regardless of where they're from or how old they are-are unable to do. I've been single for the entirety of my short-ass life, so I don't know how I would react in her situation (and hope I never have to go through the same thing in my lifetime or put someone through it), but I hope I remember her and her grace when I'm going through a rough patch with someone. I am so proud of Rose for taking time to gather herself and really say all of the things that she needed to say. It's sick to me that Ed to this day acts like the only mistake he made was lying about his height. The problem is that he treated Rose like a pet and acted surprised any time she had an opinion or dreams for herself.

I think I've figured out, at least partly, why people like these kinds of videos. I've come up with two reasons. One is the obvious, people want to know more about a subject, so they get an experts opinion. The other is similar but not quite the same. People often have feelings about something, general feelings that they can't exactly put words to. A "somethings wrong here, I don't like this" feeling. Sometimes we try to explain it, but that explanation doesn't quite satisfy. Hearing someone more knowledgeable put words to and specify what we feel eases that uncertainty. Those are the reasons I could figure, at least.

I think the word betrayal sums up what Rose felt at that moment. Not being open about the vasectomy for so many days, while letting her get closer to him and knowing her dream of having more kids, it’s a big betrayal to lead her on knowing you’re going to break their heart.

Thing is, whenever I've started seeing a girl I make a pretty solid point early on that I personally never, ever want children. Because I know that if a girl ever wants kids - or even *thinks* she might want kids - then I am definitely not the guy for her as I know that I 100% don't want them. It's courteous and simply avoids any potential heartbreak or disappointment further down the line. The fact Ed deceives Rose knowing she 100% wants kids and he 100% doesn't is completely beyond me. Total dick move in my opinion.

@Kaylah B. Yes, of course :) Personally, they're just not for me. They irritate me, they annoy me, spend your money, don't appreciate the effort you're putting in for them, they whine, bitch and cry, go in tantrums, etc. I also like to go out and enjoy my own life, I couldn't just do that if I had a child, I'd have to get a babysitter or something first, then be back by a certain time. I couldn't get drunk as much as I'd want/like to because it's "irresponsible". I had one friend tell me "yeah, but in 18 years you got yourself a drinking buddy!", I replied "yeah, but for the first 18 years of its life I'm gonna be a drunk father, plus I got my own dad. I'd rather go out with him". You also can't just spontaneously have sex any more, you've gotta start thinking about where the kid is and properly timing it so they don't walk in or see you or whatever. They literally ruin everything haha. Also when they constantly want your attention or show you something they've "made" or "drawn", like I know it sounds mean but I don't care. "Look, I drew a picture of you!", no dude, you drew a scribble of multicolours that make up a picture of nothing, come back to me when you get some skill. What if I want to go out for a drink and they can come with me? They have to be out by a certain time which means I'd have to be out too. They just get in the way of life. Also, parents annoy me when they have kids. It's like all they can talk about. It does my head in. Nobody cares about your kid as much as you do and I don't care for how they're getting on in school, or what shenanigans they've been up to. It bores me, and I don't want to be that parent either. And then there's the other side of things. What if they get bullied? What if they get hurt? Their first heartbreak? I also don't want to have to deal with that either. I've been through all of that myself and I feel like it's an inevitable learning curve in life.. I couldn't see someone I love going through that all over again. To be honest with you, I've been told about having my "legacy" living on with children previously, but I don't really care about that. My life is nothing special and I don't particularly desire to have it living on through any offspring. People often question (like yourself) why I don't want kids - which is perfectly fine - but for me I often question why people DO want kids? Like, I'm always made to feel like I'm the odd one out for not wanting to procreate, but I can never get my head around why people actually DO want to themselves!? But I just think that's their decision and I understand a lot of people do, I just don't understand why. I'm 27 now, I decided long ago that I never want kids and my opinion hasn't changed. If my opinion DOES change, I can guarantee that it will be long into the future - but I can also guarantee that that is a very, VERY tiny percentage chance, hahaha. These are just my brainfart thoughts anyway, I'm sure I could write a whole lot more but I'm sure you get the picture at this stage. Apologies if some of this came off a bit defensive, that's not my intention (it's just the way I'm writing as the thoughts pop into my head hahah), hope that clears things up :)

I never believe this "drama" of Rose's sister asking for money because she speaks perfect english in text but when we met her, she only speaks tagalog. I find it very interesting that Ed said he had already made an appointment and was having a vasectomy, yet with his next girlfriend, he said they had a pregnancy scare. That also makes this conversation seem even more like a power move . He knew that she wanted children, and he was so sure that she was poor and desperate, he drew a line to establish he’s in charge. And he thought she would cave. Otherwise, he would’ve actually gotten a vasectomy to prevent children. He didn’t. He dated Liz for several months and still never had it done. BTW, the very abusive call leaked on you tube, I’d love your take on the call between Ed and Liz. His mask truly comes off.

Rose REEALLYY tried to make it work and try to brush off the things that he said. She did love him but it's hard to love someone whenever they try to communicate to you that you come off as a child to them. Each conversation they had he dug a hole deeper and it's hard when he always put her in such uncomfortable situations. Like buying her lingerie and swim wear without her. He didn't know her style and he got things that were revealing. And instead of bringing it up in a better way he just said "Your breath stinks brush your teeth". Communication is key and if you hurt someone every time you try to communicate with them, makes it really hard to be around that someone. On top of that note as soon as the notion of my bf wanting kids came about I had a conversation with him about how I didn't want kids. If that was a deal breaker for us I was totally prepared for him to let go. I'd never hold onto someone if something I did would make them want to leave.

In most Asian Culture it takes a lot of Time, Respect and Trust to make someone say "I love you" (It took me a month to say that to my ex 😅) and the funny thing is once you break that it will be really hard to fix cuz most Asian people especially woman in every break up would cry for a few days and then forgets and moves on but in some cases if that person is (as we say) "Marupok" then lucky! You got another chance! So I understand why Rose would totally finish it off just like that yeah sure he got off with those first few lies but the last one was the finishing blow, I bet Rose was not only upset about the baby thing but from all of the lies that has built up soo she was like a ticking time bomb yet Ed failed to realize that and the baby thing was the finishing blow she was just trying to set all of those aside cuz she did like him

I really needed to watch this today. Sometimes I have some really bad days with my depression, I've had multiple people cheat on me, ex wife leave me for someone she met online, etc so sometimes when I'm by myself I get stuck in these destructive mental loops which make getting through the day so damn difficult. I see myself in Big Ed " looking to see if someone would love me" and the constant lies..because I dont know I'm insecure no one would take me in.. I don't see Ed as bad, I see him as very sad. Rose is so strong. Being someone who generally loves people instantly, I know that feeling of disappointment when you end up feeling used. But I also agree with you Anthony that when you love people without expecting love in return that you often get a lot of love back.

If her immediate answer was "no", (in his head) he could use the fact that he cannot afford more children and doesn't want any more as a "reason" that she doesn't want to be with him. As he is already doing. Saying things like "she wanted the green card and that she wanted his money"... Dumb logic... Ed logic.. Ugh
