First of all, as a therapist... I’m in love with your insight, analysis/breakdown, and feedback. Secondly, after they hugged Natalie said, “I don’t wanna do that again”. PLEASE notice AS SOON, literally milliseconds after she uttered those words she looked up at him. If she had true conviction behind such words, she wouldn’t care about his reaction. But she looked at him. Wanting some sort of feedback. You can definitely tell these two are actively holding back from being whole-heartedly genuine with one another. Especially with how many men express their infatuation with Natalie and vise versa with the ladies probably salivating over the possibility of being with rich-boy-David... it’s no wonder neither of them are pulling the trigger. Not to mention, because of this hesitation, they don’t want to jeopardize their friendship (which has been in existence for many years).

Actually not really for the kiss.. they first met at this party at tana’s house. And when they first met they were so excited that they were the same age that they bonded over that real quick since everyone else around them were in their 20s. Then if I recall correctly Liza invited David to go to the rooftop just to hangout. And when they were up there David tried to kiss Liza I think? I saw it in one of their videos. David was saying Liza made the first move by asking him to hangout at the roof but David tried to make the first move kiss wise. Lol I think she wants him to make the first move. Her eyes absolutely sparkle when she looks at him. And she DID move to LA to work for him even when she felt really lonely and only knew and interacted with David. Left behind her longtime college boyfriend. In the trust fall...she had a hard time trusting David to catch her until after David showed that he trusted her. David has made little comments that he’s the one who isn’t interested lol who knows if he’s just kidding or if it’s true. I think he really wants a girlfriend that’s more successful than him and more “his type.” He’s always saying he’s into short, confident spitfires. I have a bit of an obsession with them, one of the more recent things I’ve seen is an Instagram story of David’s filming Natalie saying she said she wanted him to kiss her while they were in quarantine👀 could be a joke but she never outright says “I didn’t say that” she just giggles and says “don’t do me like that”. I really want them to get together when they’re a bit older. I think being friends for that long they’d be scared to lose their friendship at this point but I do think if they get all their 20s hookups out of the way they could have a really solid relationship since it’s based off a long long friendship. UNPOPULAR OPINION: I think Natalie thinks she too good for David; David likes her but she doesn't feel the same. Don't get me wrong, I love Natalie and think she's so humble in general but: David has admitted to liking her in the past and being attracted to her from the moment he moved into his childhood home. Those kind of feelings don't just go away. Even back when they went to the dance together, he had a crush on her and she left him to dance with other guys. Natalie was liking tweets saying she should be with someone more attractive, like Jeff, rather than David. She also previously said she was too mature for everyone in their friend group, but is suddenly hooking up with Todd. She's simply not attracted to him. No matter how awkward a situation is, if you're subconsciously attracted to someone, you don't push your butt out the way she did in the hug. I think David is just stuck in the friendzone, tbh. Maybe she'll come to her senses in the future lol.

I think you were on the right track of the "fantasy" and romanticizing the whole thing. But I honestly believe that it's David that wants to be with her more than she wants to be with him at the moment. When a girl says she doesn’t want to do that ever again, it really means she doesn’t want to express any more interest or do anything that will make it look like she’s interested because of fear of rejection. It’s a thing we do when we’re shy and afraid to say or express how we really feel so we shield away by being mean or saying something that pushes the other person away. I do it often when I’m around someone I really like but I don’t want to get rejected if I say or show what I’m really feeling.

Natalie definitely thinks she’s too mature for David right now. I think she is attracted to him at certain times, but when he shows his immaturity and annoys Natalie, she sees it as a sign it wouldn’t work out long term so it’s not worth it. Maybe she has realized that if she waited until they both grew up a bit, they could be married, etc, and it would be a beautiful love story of how they met and were friends blah blah. Maybe that’s the glimmer you see in her eye. She probably knows she’s gotta suppress it for now, which is hard once you’ve had that realization; this is why she says, “definitely don’t want to do that again...” she’s suppressing that attraction and concealing it from David, who’s probably oblivious to it all or has decided against it for the sake of the friendship (“like a brother and sister” allows him to do this).
