Cohabiting won’t make you know a person if you can live together. Even as couples you see new habits you can’t deal with but you stay.

I agree that new habits pop up here and there but i believe living together at some point will show you some basic habits that you may not necessarily see by visiting. It’s also just like in the uni days where you have roommate that you can’t cope with because of their habits that you only found out when you lived with them .

@@tommuzima1146 what I meant with my statement was that there are two sides to this whole thing. I can’t even remember everything that was discussed in this video as at when typing this. Yes, it is true that we have choices and can make choices but I will always talk as a believer, when making those choices in life generally you have to involve God 💯💯💯and choosing a spouse isn’t outside this, so that it won’t be a wrong one. We humans are always unpredictable

Very interesting session. Personally, cohabiting with your partner before marriage is good but it also depends on both partners understanding of each other. Weekends don't cut it, because people pretend a lot, 2weeks - 1month is good for a start. Cohabiting is also a screening process for both parties to understand what they can tolerate about each other, no one is perfect. Cohabiting is for serious relationships that has a dedicated intention, commitment and discipline.

I understand where you’re coming from, but like I said, in the video, I will definitely encourage people to stay for extended periods with whom they want to marry before getting married to avoid stories that touch, knowing that at least you did your part in getting to know this person.

If we go back to God's plan of becoming husband and wife BEFORE cohabiting and actually both parties walking in OBEDIENCE to God's standard (Exodus 20:3-17), things will be far better. Yes, we live in a sinful world and challenges will come but God's ideal is always the ideal.
