@@bslanoe1829 maybe you havent seen many south Indians but not all of them are as dark as her. In Kerala many are not. Even the Tamils, not all are dark though some are. But they dont have negroid facial features or very curly hair that is textured like Africans. So I would never mistake her for a South Indian. I am Singaporean and we have many South Indians here. Have been to India on work too. I have seen South Indians from Kerala who are lighter than some North Indians so while generally North Indians are lighter, not all the time.

Its more to do with the dating culture of India. It is not so predominant except Metro and tier1 cities. Also, a majority of the family are still not pro dating. Although this culture is changing. Yet, its way different from Western countries.
