I pity those in the dating market these days. Whilst youngsters claim that society was far more patriarchal or traditional or more steeped in traditional gender roles back then, life was simpler. And I am not referring to the 60s or 70s. I am a millennial, albeit the oldest of the gang, but when I first dated my wife more than 23 years ago, there isn't any talk of who pays for whom. Oh, our first date was a stroll in the park, literally. We chatted, walked, and chatted some more. That was it. Oh, my wife is the only woman I have ever dated or held hands with romantically. And she was with me through thick and thin, through NS, and we completed our postgraduate studies together. We have five children together. ❤ She is my one and only.

Nowadays, when I ask Singaporean girls online out, they want a dinner at an expensive place. I suggested coffee, "nope, dinner is better". I suggest "let's meet at Mos Burger". The response was "who do you think you are to make me eat fast food for you????!!". Needless to say that's a major red flag for me and I cancelled the date. Don't even wish to meet a 42 year old spinster who behaves like this

One thing I’d like to add. Wedding ring (engagement ring) and wedding band are two different things. Wedding ring is a waste of money no matter how much it cost. For myself, I bought my wife a Rolex instead. And we had two basic wedding bands

How expensive are these “dates” that need to keep talking about split and costs? I married my wife two years ago with about 4 yrs prior dating. I paid for all dates, fancy or not fancy ones. If your date demands a fancy eat-out worth a few hundred each time, then it’s more of a red flag. If you a guy, can’t afford to pay for your dates bowl of ramen or have petty issues why do I always need to pay for your meal when that meal is not worth a ton, then there are huge issues out there

Some of these girls don't want ramen. They will tell you directly "I don't eat ramen. I think high tea(Sgd100 per person) is better". Or they want you to wine and dine them. If you click and like each other then it's no problem. But high chance you'll meet someone who looks different from her pics (photoshopped), and she's not that friendly, kind of arrogant with some rude remarks and criticises you during the expensive date that she expects you to pay to see her fake and rude face. And imagine the guy needs to meet 20 girls like this before he meets a girl that is compatible. That's why guys are calculating the money burnt

Before even going on first dates, ask yourself if the cost is too high. If yes, use that potential cost for better means (e.g. family care, investing etc.). You won't regret it. 😊

The ring should be the biggest u can afford, girls don't ask other girls how much the ring cost, they ask how big the damn diamond is. Dont get tricked into buying what AAA grade diamond bs, just get the biggest one u can afford.

I asked a Singaporean 42 year old woman online out for coffee, she said dinner better. I said Mos Burger. She threw a tantrum via text "who do you think you are??! You think I will eat fast food for you???!!". Major red flag. Can't cook, can't love, cant do housechores, can't earn money (I earn more). Basically she comes into the relationship with nothing to offer, and her eggs may be infertile at 42.she thinks she's 20😅😅😅. Two years later she's still lurking around the app waiting for her banquet😂😂😂
