Unrealistic expectations of a partner are what's causing issues in relationships right now. It's like even if you meet four out of five criteria for someone, if you miss just one, they might think, "Nah, I shouldn't settle for less." Another harsh reality is that everyone thinks they're a 9 and wants a 10, but in reality, most of us are just a 6 looking for a 10.

Guys, dont believe in social media. My wife and i have been together for 15 years. We have two kids. Even though we love each other, we argue and quarrel over big and small things. Every family will definitely have its own unglamorous moments that wouldn't be disclosed on the social media. If you don't, it's probably your family members don't interact with each other and everything in the house is taken care by a helper. Haha.

The level of shaming by the ladies in the show about men approaching women is shocking, particularly in light of the current societal context where individuals often find themselves navigating isolation and difficulty in expanding their social circles to meet potential partners. In such a climate, his initiative as a go-getter is commendable, showcasing a willingness to break through barriers and pursue connections amidst the challenges of contemporary dating norms.

@@playingcasual2024 Bus stop = public place so what's wrong? If the person is not interested then fine, but why do conversations have to 'only' happen at parties or clubs? If a person wants to end the convo then sure, but nothing wrong starting on to gauge the interest in wanting to engage further. Cynicism is ingrained in our society unfortunately, oh any convos outside of this or that kind of place = suspicious

tbh in our modernised society, dating has become increasingly complicated. it really does stem from social media, theres so many new rules, new trends and new little bits here and there. too many gen z’s care about the little things till they forget about the big thing. theyre too fixated on how social media views relationships

@@playingcasual2024 youre right as well!! i also feel this way, but in the younger gen, theres way too many rules and “icks” that have been developed which just makes everything more difficult. for eg, some people of my gen will think that music taste matters A LOT. but i dont see why it does 😭 theyll immediately find someone but get turned off so fast because the person they found listens to like idk, taylor swift or someone else. 🥲 but i believe ure right as well 🤗

Feels frustrating overall not just in SG but really in any place in the world where it's Asian culture. I say this as someone in Canada and with Asians, the general sense is "don't talk to me" which makes it unacceptable to approach them unless you're in a friends group with them. Asians create very isolating social bubbles like a herd protection mechanism. It's exhausting

It’s about knowing what and when to share. To some extent, also matters whether your decision on what and when to share aligns with your partner’s expectations. It’s very subjective. Got to have a somewhat good grasp of social norms but also some luck.

Share half and stop if the other party is not comfortable. The listening party don't always have to be quick to offer solutions, sometimes just listening for a bit is enough.

In modern dating, after the 1st and 2nd date, or even the 3rd date, both of you need to do something with your friends (or mutual friends ideally). Otherwise, if it's just 1:1 time all the way, it gets boring really quick.

You think tiktok and social medias are transparent? Unfortunately, every content put up by these so-called influencers are also highly curated and glamorised. Sure, perhaps they do show a little of the rawness and hardship, but only what they want you to see. Nothing more. Want something realistic? Get off your phone or computer and go experience it yourself.
