He was also diving competitively on the international circuit when he was still basically a kid. So he was doing rigorous training, traveling the world and competing in diving events against adults before he was one himself. That tends to make one mature faster.

@@yassoleimani Yes, first of all, one needs enough in common with each other. Tom and Lance, when they met, both had issues with personal loss and found they could comfort each other. And then they found they both were setting high goals for themselves (one as diver and one as docu maker). They could support each other there too. Most people would say: "You don't need to be the best. Less is more." Neither of them needed that. So they were lucky. But I think there was a second part--also in my happiest past relationship: mutual generosity. If you both love to give, both get plenty. Most people are so needy that they forget to give and only harp about it never being enough. Doesn't work toward happiness. So, if you're a generous person, look for a generous person. (And if you're not a generous person, become a generous person.) Because, sometimes we need to help Fate a little. :-)
