The stories come after the life has been “lifed”. Stories help us make sense of life, afterwards. But if you manipulate your life to fit into a story, then you take yourself out of life.

Totally agree. All the work you have done in acting totally comes through in your KZbin videos. The storytelling, how you follow your intuition and communicate your feelings, and so many more things! There’s no way your videos would be as good as they are without all that experience! From here, it definitely does not look like a failure but a stepping stone to this beautiful channel you created. Don't settle. Wait for someone who feels like home, who you have everything in common with, who you both bring out the best in each other without pushing. Wait for the person who will one day make you say, "Marrying him was one of the best decisions I've ever made." Marry someone who you feel safe assuming the best of them. Because even easy, good relationships have hard days where you don't communicate well, and knowing they are good goes a long way.

At 30, I didnt know how to take good emotional care of myself in the way you have just demonstrated. Every young woman needs to see this. "Not my job." When I was younger I think I was focused on how to be a good partner, how to improve that with each new relationship or “audition” (date). But as I got older I realized that that will come once partnered, and the real task at the time was learning how to recognize and have good judgment about people in the beginning. It takes practice, knowing when to release from the interaction. It’s like tennis or singing or parenting or anything that’s a combination of instinct plus learned wisdom.

I found one of my kitten's baby teeth when I was sweeping (this was over a year ago) I thought it was a bead or something because I do crafts and just saw a little white thing clatter across the dust pan, I felt too guilty to throw THAT away! Let alone if I was blessed with a baby of my own! I asked my friend if it was weird but they surprised me at how understanding and nice they were about it. They said it made sense to them because when you look at it you remember them at that tiny baby stage, and they encouraged me to put it in one of my empty bead bottles, so I did and honestly I don't regret it. It's on a little shelf of knickknacks and my friend was right if I walk by that shelf I see it and remember when my kittens were small enough to fit in the palm of my spouse's hand! Anyway~ I don't think it's actually weird but I feel like we all THINK we're not supposed to do it or else it makes US weird. I hope that made sense lol.

I think in about August of last year someone commented “I predict 100,000 subs by end of 2022!” And I was like oh they’re crazy. (My goal was to have 40,000 by end of 2022). It was the first time I noticed people believing in me more than I believed in myself. And that changed my life. I also totally feel and know that bittersweet feeling of things changing, the smallness changing. I think about it a lot. I want to keep the intimacy. Trying to find ways to do so. Congratulations on your KZbin award and pls don't downplay your achievements. I'm old enough to be your mother and really enjoy your videos - every single one of them. Good on you for recognising those red flags with Street Man whilst maintaining both yours and his privacy and dignity on KZbin. LOVED seeing your dog's reaction to your arrival and how you have big hugs - plus gotta love any household where a dog has his own couch ha ha. Hi from Australia xx

Oh girl, that last bit made me tear up. I am pretty sure I speak for a lot of us here when I say that the "finding a fit" feeling is reciprocated. That's why there are so many of us, you make us feel like you're a good friend without even meeting us... Not to mention, as someone studying ID all of that perfectly imperfect content is such a bonus cherry on top. I've learned so many golden nuggets. Thank you for being so genuinely you here on KZbin, you deserve enough plaques to cover your whole bathroom lol :)

I'm sorry i had to stop the video to say this.. you already do (HAVE) the talent for it (present tense) and it shines through your internal dialogue, facial expressions, your witty banter talking to yourself, and many many more!! Doing KZbin is like your own show that you get to star, produce, edit and direct every ounce of it and put it out for us to watch💖 and i think this is equally amazing Imagine a person turning on the TV to just see YOU, knowingly!! Definitely thank you for opening up about this with us, i first hand know how hard this is to talk about ❤️ I'm constantly reminded that you have a very eclectic mix of subscribers If i cud say so myself by some of the comments i read and who love you for being genuinely who you are ❤️ Also sorry, English is not my first language so apologies for any misinterpretation.. Love from Egypt ❤️

1) I really like the message you are putting out there about dating. You know, taking time to get to know someone, really thinking about it all before leaping. 2) I love the way you showed love to the fur baby! 3) Keep those baby teeth. It's not weird.

Caroline, you are amazing. I was once a young woman in NOVA working in DC and dating is hard. It is really hard in DC. You hang in there. To quote the great Janis Joplin, "don't compromise yourself. You are all you've got." You are amazing and did not compromise yourself. As an intelligent woman, it's going to be harder for your to find your soul mate but you have got this. Don't feel bad that your didn't lessen yourself to make someone else feel more. Someone who really loves your will celebrate you. You are great. You are so real, beautiful and intelligent. Hang in there lady. You are a classy lady! From another Caroline. :)

When you posted about the date initially I wondered if it really was going okay. I didn't think you seemed confident that it was going in a deeper direction. It's so refreshing to see someone who knows themselves so well and can stay grounded despite what seems like a perfect hallmark story beginning.

Being able to empathize with people and explain away questionable behavior is something I completely understand, but you realize it only hurts you and the act is often not seen or appreciated by the other person. I think your approach to new dates is solid. I like how you think (except for the teeth). Congrats on the plaque. Glad to be one of the many strangers that regularly watch your videos.

100% so glad you broke things off with Street Man. The whole thing with the "narrative"...god damn, that's so relatable. My first boyfriend was this modelesque dreadhead I was introduced to through friends, and since I had low self esteem when I was in my early 20s, I thought, wow, I'm so lucky this beautiful, well-traveled man wants to touch me. He turned out to be a self-absorbed man-child who couldn't take any amount of criticism and had no regard for the things I wanted. I had planned to spend my last year in college overseas so we could continue dating, since he was attending grad school at a university in England, and it all seemed so romantic right up until he dumped me half a month before the trip that I couldn't get a refund for. So I spent the last year of college in isolation, pretty much. He AND HIS MOTHER harassed me for six months after he broke up with me, because he realized he'd made a mistake, but I at least had the good sense to say, um, no thank you, crazy people. I'm not a spur of the moment decision; I'm not an afterthought or an accessory. I'm a human being. Stop making the fact that you don't know what you want my problem. Last I heard he was still unemployed and living with his mom. 😂

What you talked about from min 25 onwards made me feel so connected. I just got recently diagnosed with ADHD as a 31 year old woman. And it was liberating. I'm not qualified to diagnose anyone of course. But your quick recap of school and the feeling of having too much projects / interests, making a mess for others - it was important to me to know what my brain is in charge of and what literally is my character when it comes to my life circumstances. Just recently found your channel in my recommend section. love it!

Dear Caroline, Thank you for sharing the struggles of your day-to-day with us, especially the dating aspects. I am also coming out of a long relationship (4 years) and am currently saving to move to a new state/ city and start over. I'm also a "failed actor" and am still getting over the heart break of Hollywood. I'm so glad that I found your channel because it gives me hope that I will be able to smile again. I was feeling like a failure, in many ways. But watching you live your life and continue to move forward, smiling and laughing and yes, I'm sure you have just as many low moments too, but just to see you continue to thrive and reinvent yourself inspires me to also be a bad ass just like you. Thank you for the inspiration. I love all your videos, home décor, dating, gym stuff, cute family and funny life moments. Thank you for all your hard work making these videos.

Thank you for sharing the update on street man. It is so easy for me to get lost in the romance of a relationship when the only thing that really matters is the reality of how they are treating you. I think I exorcised a few demons of my own listening to your matter-of-fact account of the ending of what was really just a possibility, not even an actual thing in itself. Loved the rest of the video, DC is so gorgeous.

Clarity is kindness in all relationships.. especially in the dating scene. I made this point to my now husband on one of our first dates and am very thankful he respected me enough to communicate where he saw our relationship at with each stage and how he was feeling. Extra tid-bit of wisdom.. which comes from my brother-in-law who will say this until the day he dies.. “relationships are all about communication and expectations and communicating about your expectations” You’re a gem Caroline!

Watching you is so wild for me. I relate to so much of how you naturally express yourself outwardly on this format, explain your inner experience to feel like, your capacity for self reflection and analyzing, and many of your interests, points of views, and choices + patterns you share. It can feel like I’m watching a younger version of me who didn’t marry at 21; what that alternative universe version of me probably unfolded a lot like. It’s funny bc you’re thanking viewers for helping you understand yourself better and I feel thankful for you bc you help me both understand myself better + kinda go back and better integrate a younger me I have had a difficult time fully accepting and validating. I love this channel and appreciate you. No matter what you share, even if it’s more serious or nuanced or a heavier topic, somehow I always feel inspired, laugh, and feel more connected to the world and myself. That’s no small thing. 🙏🏼
