Oh my God I am in tears right now. this came a a perfect time for me. I have been struggling with my 10 year old daughter (step daughter) and I could not understand or did not know how to handle the challenges we have been having. I was referred to by a friend. I’m currently in a relationship with someone that has a child outside the relationship. I must say that this video was so informative. It’s not easy at all. My boyfriend’s baby mama is really spreading the negative energy and she’s making this whole process difficult for me. She would call and lie that the child is sick and making unnecessary demands just to ruin our moments and stress my man out. Sometimes she would deny mans access to the baby. I know she might be hurting but she’s not helping. I wish she could be open minded to this and put her differences aside and co-parent. Firstly thank you for that disclaimer. The sound was on point throughout the video. I think the biggest take away for me in this video is that boundaries are important and that the partner with the child needs to set the tone for how things will progress with the co-parenting I absolutely love Katli's heart. Katlego's testimony is similar to mine👀, the guy I've been dating for the past few months has a son, 3 years old and I met the kid a few weeks after meeting his dad. And even today I'm still trying to get to know him and the kid is still warming up to me. I'm just so scared of what the future holds for us, if I marry this guy because we're in a serious relationship.m and his son is a very important part of his life. I'm one of blended family.. I have 2 stepdaughters, that I love dearly.. They both 18 yrs ... I have been with them for 12 yrs now... Me and my husband have 17yr old son and 11 yr old daughter... We are happily family of 6.... 3 teenagers... Very hectic.. The support I get from my husband is amazing.. Even from their mothers... I get along very well with them... The challenge started when my husband lost his job... My goodness, I felt it... For 10 full years... jobless... God has been my strength... It has not been easy... My sister and my mother has been very financially supportive to the whole family...

This was a very interesting conversation and I am so glad to hear from another young lady how she is going about it. I definately want to go about things in a less chaotic manner and be mature about it all, especially when I feel like the mom isn't. Buli Makhubo he is very much involved so we have weekends every month that are just for the kids and we don’t make any personal plans on those because daddy has to be with the cubs. I also feel like looking at the general opinion on baby daddies I fully support that he must be a present and provident father to them.

I loved this conversation and gave me further insight to what i did not know. and honestly speaking i fall into the "i know i cannot do this" category. I know life throws you curve balls but in my head i want a certain structure for my child and having another external person influence/ me influence their child/ my child would be HARD for me. so i guess (hopefully not) if i'm faced with such i would rrruuunn. and honestly its OK, not everyone can do this.

This for me...😐. I am torn. My childs father is living with another woman and they now have a child together. i have only met her once and by chance but no introduction. my daughter is 5 years old and from time to time she visits this house that has a stranger. my concern is when she came in the picture she was never introduced to me and i was never even asked or advised that there is someone else who is going to be part of my daughter's life. I dont speak negatively about her because im trying to create a peaceful environment for my child but i do feel that im the only one. These people have a full blown life that my daughter has not been incorporated in but they expecr her to refer to this woman i dont know as her mother. im frustrated but mostly concerned because i sense problems when my child is older. The bond that should have been formed when she was a baby is not being formed and knowing my head strong princess....it will be rough when she's older and again it could even fall back on me and i will be the bad person

It’s not too late. Communication is very important. Speak to your child’s father and raise your concerns so that the introductions can take place because they are VERY MUCH necessary. Right now your concerns are very much valid but the assumptions are not very accurate. This is your child and you need to be comfortable with your child being at their other home because the dad is that dad at the end of the day and even when you get a partner, your child’s father also needs to be comfortable with your daughter being in your care with the stepparent. Please get into the right state of mind and once your heart is fine/calm sit him down and talk to him about your concerns.
