The problem with dating apps is it encourages people to be shallow. Am I the only one who saw a lot of love and compassion exchanged here? Anyone?? Or am I insane and hallucinating? Hear me out: 1. Reminded a therapy session (Nick being the customer ofc😂) 2. But at the same time an intro episode of matchmaking series (think Indian Matchmaking) where aunty matchmaker would refuse to even consider taking Nick as a customer out of a fear of him doing an irreparable damage to her nervous system and business 2. Matteo getting so worked up clearly means that he cares A LOT 3. So hysterically funny and occasionally mean (as per usual duhhh) 4. But then all of a sudden Matteo explodes with genuinely kind words for Nick, which are totally 1000% true 5. Nick being unapologetically honest and self-critical yet also a bit vulnerable and open to criticism/feedback from Matteo (ofc as far as Nick will ever allow anyone to criticise his fabulous one-of-a-kind self -> 0% sarcasm here) 6. I feel like you two opened up a bit more that usual and did shed a tiny bit of your "podcast personas" and we were invited into a nice (provocative choise of a word here but I stand by it), passionate, a bit exasperated and very honest conversation between true friends 7. To be occasionaly mean to each other and yet not get offended and instead laugh WITH each other and never AT each other is the highest form of friendship/love. PROVE ME WRONG. But I feel like I really get what he's saying about dating. It can get pretty tired going over and over through the entry-point version of yourself with new people and he just wishes he could skip to the good part, and when I think about that I can see why his profile is the way it is.
