My best valentine memories are when I was a kid. My dad would buy a really good box of chocolates for Mom and us kids, and he'd buy himself a 6-pack of beer, lol. Everybody was happy. Valentine's is definitely no biggy. It wasn't when I was married, either.

That's kinda sad though. I love celebrating holidays. Doesn't have to be anything big. Been with my husband for 20 years and we definitely used to go all out as kids but even just a card or coffee, a treat, watching a special movie together. I hope that I didn’t offend you. Being single and everything I mentioned about aren’t mutually exclusive! You can have it all. All I meant was that you can live a full and happy life regardless of finding a life partner. There are so many types of lives to live fully and happily. I just remember feeling so much social pressure in finding marriage in my 30s that i had a nagging feeling in the back of my mind that something was wrong with me if I didn’t. With 20 years more experience, and a marriage behind me, that voice is gone. Way too simplistic those nagging, unhelpful voices.

My husband and I shared Valentine’s Day with my 90 year old mom who lives 3 hours away. She will be moving from her familial home of 30 years to a retirement home at end of month. We agreed that, hopefully, we will have many more Valentine’s Days to share together, but felt it was important to spend time with her. It was lovely, shared a yummy meal, took her for a haircut and clothes shopping for her new home. Every day is an opportunity to share love with important people in our lives. Today is always a hard day for me, my husband and I were married 13yrs ago today. I remember saying that I wanted it be today to always remember this day forever. However it's been 2 years and my love is no longer here. Today I will go and grab food and make a nice dinner and have a glass of wine and watch a movie with our son who is 13. The rose painting is one of the most beautiful I have seen thrifted by anyone and my favorite art piece of yours! And, the embroidered swans are exquisite! I love both of these! I'm 51, never married, one dog, one cat, and have had many Valentine's days with boyfriends. But, I have had most with either galpals for a night in or nice dinner out with a close manfriend in my life, also single and fantastic company all! All were special! I'm functioning in that I am mobile and independent for the most part, but I live in constant pain and still suffer everyday. I fight every minute of my life! This has kept me from really feeling like much of a "catch" or even having the energy to seek a partner or even contribute to a relationship. But, I know God has His plans for me. I’m two days away from my 58 th birthday. I am having a great Valentines day.. I went Thrifting with a good friend. We bought lots of nice things..I will have a glass of wine and make a lovely dinner for myself...Life is peaceful and that is all I need at this time of my life, Men have come and gone,,,,being alone now is good for me...Best of Luck to you.

I have also celebrated as single and have for the past 5 years. I love it! I had to work today but now I am home watching videos and yes, I bought myself cake! I love being unattached and free! I also enjoy the therapy of gardening and am hoping for dry weather !

Happy Valentine's Day Elise ❤. My Valentine is my little Maltipoo baby dog 😅. One of my clients surprised me with a card and flower on Monday and that made my day. I don't mind not having a significant other as long as I'm mentally happy. I see some of my friends that are in relationships and they're miserable. So I appreciate not having any of their heartaches and headaches. Maybe next year 😊 And I'm so excited about seeing your beautiful garden come to life! I've also bought seeds and my mom is planting roses all over my new house front yard

Aww will be stunning and lovely for you to see your roses grow! Roses are amazing. I understand, I also really value just being me sometimes, despite I also sometimes miss haveing someone to cuddle hehe. There's pros and cons of both 🥰And it will happen, when it's supposed to happen.

I loved how you filled your day. I'm a great believer in having days where you give yourself the gift of time spent doing the things you love. You looked like the subject in an impressionist painting in the wedding dress and as for that yellow one you tried on..... I was so hoping it would fit you well. Loved your art choices today and your garden choices, too Every spring I fall in love with polyanthus and primula and have to indulge in some new ones. Well done again❤ on a day well spent!!!!!
