I was married for 21 years and my wife passed away in march. A long 21 years and a rocky end. No money or property issues whatsoever but a long long observation and when I became a widower the shutters came down. No new lease of life just a shower of pound signs and warning signs. My military pension will never be abused on someone who sits on their arse with the hand out and fluttering eyes. Any girl approaching me my defences go up and in high tension alert trying to be polite and not show resentment. Its the "I know you just want money" rhetoric that will see me as a single man for my entirety. A holiday girl will be as far as I go, included in the budget. Never will I be off to meet the rural parents again. I can just imagine a weekend of scam excuses and my reaction will be to walk off into the night. One nighters after hours no more feeding the bar till. To put it in summary, Ive overstayed the point of being here. From the very second the cockerel crows to the last dog barks all I hear in almost every sentence is Baht. A soapy bubble will be suffice, I enjoy a good bath, both winners.

Call the credit card company before your trip and tell them you are going overseas, so they won't lock your card when it suddenly gets used half way around the world !! a lot of people don't think about that ! you live in Idaho and your card is used in Bkk, of course it gets locked

l totally loved the last story . Always tell your bank you are in Thailand for however many weeks then there is no problem with a credit card . Yes he fell under the spell as many of us do. I think he had a great time however long that may be . But his story reinforces my choice to never ever take a wing man . Never ever share a hotel room with a friend . Do your own thing always .
