Time for a wiring harness and last video for 2018!
The ignition only Megasquirt MS1 on a V3.0 board gets wired in to the 240Z this episode. With the Megasquirt MS1 in an ignition only configuration there are not many wires for this engine management.
Simplistically the ECU requires a live feed, good grounding, a trigger to the MSD 6AL CDI box, a signal from the Pertronix Ignitor in the locked distributor and a switched ground for the launch control circuit.
There are a few stuff ups along the way and an unexpected twist at the end.

Jesus Mares thanks! I don’t have anything right now sorry. I’ve learned what I know from diyautotune.com (which I think there is a write up on MS1/MS2 to 280zx) and megamanual.com. What are you planning on running with your turbo setup?

Hi Adam Buckman it is a disadvantage that the MS1 manual is only web based unlike the others. When first investigating the Megasquirt, this fact alone almost drove my to the MS2 haha

My Z has been on chassis stands for over 2 years. I really need to work on a goal like you have. Had my 240Z for 21 years. I only have to finish retro fitting later gearbox, bolting in R200 4.3 LSD ,Re ring 2850 cc engine and redo rear main cap side seals,fit new back brakes and drain out old fuel . Easy : ( Looking for Incentive

With a 4.3 diff it’ll accelerate like lightning! Is the gearbox a 71C?

@@kyushaspeed 280Z late sychros but wide ratio, tall 5th so 4.3 diff with close ratio and 4.6 diff my 2.7 ran 12.96 @ 105.7 mph with 3.9 diff and 2850 cc QR sprint circuit 60.61 sec . look at my you tubes

@@kyushaspeed777nm RW Torque from 3500 to 6500 rpm. The Zcar club had a dyno day , i had the best HP and torque even against 3.1 strokers with my 2.7 Junker eng . L26 crank,L24 Rods, 180B pistons ( out of a bin ) balanced myself except for rotating mass. 11 to 1 com. 40mm Mikunis on E88 head w std size ports to get intake air speed up. lots of work shaping the exhaust guide boss to get 78% exhaust flow to intake flow. Adjustable cam gear to dial in 76 cam ( takes hours,but worth it ) Datsun motor sport tubed headers, the twin pipes where 2.1/4 ,made smaller to 2 inch and tuned their length to come on at 3500rpm to suit the cam. just that exhaust mod ( that i was told not to do ) dropped my 1/4 mile from 13.9 to 12.9 Exhaust pipe tuning to improve scavenging and to slow down exhaust reversion is very important on a N/A engine.
